Default Engine starts and then dies

My first guess is that it is my air filter on the CAI. I haven't cleaned it in a while and it might be getting clogged more than usual during the current winter. If this is the case, what do I need to detach from the car (i.e. panels and such) to get to the actual air filter? I have a fujita cai.

If this is not the problem, anybody else have ideas? On warmer days of about 30 degrees, the car starts up fine. It's just on really cold days...it'll start, then die. But each time I start it again, it lasts a few seconds longer. It only stays on when I give it more gas. But even then, sometimes it won't stay on. Ideas? I'm crossing my fingers that it isn't something more serious. Thanks in advance!

i have never lived in a cold enough place to know for sure but I assume if your saying its that cold the cylinders could be having trouble moving, you may have to restart it several times to get it going like a 2 stroke engine i.e weed eater, kinda like a new engine take quite a few times to finally get it going.

if u wanna try the filter all u have the do is take the 3 screws out of that small panel that folds out of the way on underside of car and pull flap open and u have direct access to filter, you will want to raise car tho

how long does it crank b4 it starts, does it start every time, i woulda prolly just kep restarting it until it got warm enough to stay on.

Thanks guys for your help! Yeah i initially thought it was a cold weather thing...but this didn't happen as often last year. AT most it would have to restart once or twice.

I just removed the filter today from the side panel and cleaned it out. It is currently drying yay! hope this works...

mine has done the same thing on the really cold days (15 and under), stalls as soon as i let off the clutch when starting. Just hold in the clutch for 20 seconds and it will be fine
