Default Help please! Car only jump starts

Hey guys, first post and thanks ahead for the responses. I found an issue on here similar to mine but not quite. They needed a new battery but mine tested fine. I figured if the alternator was bad and leaving it running for a while would show that as the car would just die, right? It idles just fine but when I put it in gear and start to take off all the lights start flashing and it dies. Then, when I try to start it it acts as if the battery is at 0% even though after this happened I got the battery checked and it was perfectly charged and in good shape. Any ideas would help because my MS3 is currently parked in the hood.

I'm still gonna say battery. While mine did not test fine when it let go, it exhibited the same symptoms. It would only start on a jump and all my electronics would cut out for about a second on takeoff. New battery fixed it. As you know, cold destroys batteries, and mine died like that overnight where the day before it was working perfectly.

Once the engine is running, the battery does nothing. Electronics going glitchy on take-off shouldn't be battery related.

If the battery is so dead it can't hold enough voltage to keep everything going in the car, I would imagine it would cause this. Again I have no proof, but I believe that's what happened in my case. Granted, mine was so dead that as soon as I shut off the car, it had no electronics at all. I had to manually lock the doors.

Once an engine is running, you can remove the battery and everything will be fine...if the alternator is good.

So that be an alternator issue, correct?

Mine is actually doing the same thing. I'm going to take the alternator off to have it tested at autozone. Maybe that'll narrow it down

If the alternator is bad, you usually get a battery light on your dash. This means the system voltage is low. I'm not sure at what voltage that light is triggered.

Put a volt meter on your battery with engine off, should be around 12v. Do it again with engine running, should be over 14v.

Usually if the car is on and running and see below 12v it comes on
