Default MS6 Transmission issues... NEED HELP!

Hey guys, a local member has some issues right now with his transmission. He doesnt know a lot about cars so im trying to help and get as much info as i possibly can before we get to much farther into it.

so heres the issue...

A week ago cruising down the highway mildly getting on it, he goes to shift from 4th to 5th, comes out of 4th just fine then as hes going into 5th the stick stops as if 5th doesnt exist. he slows down presses the clutch in and nothing. wont go into any gear period!

We pull over car still running, tries to put it in all gears and nothing. the clutch has little to no resistance but springs back when you let off. at the top end of the peddle from 0-1.5 maybe 2 inches in the clutch has mild vibes.

So we turn the car off, resistance comes back to the clutch and the transmission goes into each gear with ease. no issues WTF!!!!

we bled the clutch slave cylinder, no juice. tried to put the car in gear by hand and the trans with car running to see if it was the cables, no juice.

so we tow the car back to my house to trouble shoot then next morning. disconnected the ECU did a hard reset and let the car sit over night.

next morning still nothing. he talked to a master tech at mazda that said it could be the master or slave cylinder but because the clutch sprung back after releasing with the car on it cant be the cylinders.

Other possibilities, we think maybe a bent clutch fork, the throw out bearing slipped off the fork, or the clutch is fucked (worse case senerio).

right now im at the point to where we are gonna have to pull the transmission out but do not have a place to do it at this moment in time. luckily he doesnt need his car right now because he lives and works on base. but we are in a time crunch because he is leaving for Germany in November.

thats all i can think of that we have done and the possibilities of what could be the problem.

Thanks for your help.
@djuosnteisn @superskaterxes @chimmike @robry @Downmented @Captain KR @06Speed6 @SpeedSixx @Raider @Daddy Chinkus @phate @Dano @NJSPEED3 @SPEED6 KILLAH @AtTheDriveIn @FORZDA 1 @RhoadBlock @ms6ms6

please tag anyone else that may have a clue here. for these are all the names i can think of right now.

Thanks again for your help

at the very least you can pull the boot off the fork and look inside there with a flash light.

Ok so the guy who owns the car was supposed to comment on this earlier but he didn't

Tristan! Fucker @89T

He card me today while I was at work and said the peddle started to take longer to retract. He said it would stick for a monent the slowy come up a little then once it was moving it popped up. so there is some lag in the peddle itself. He found a new master/slave cylinder for around $50. He's gonna pick those up in the morning then we will swap those out and hope that fixes it. Keep you guys posted will also inspect the clutch fork via through the boot thanks @superskaterxes
