So back story:

I work out of town, went away with a smooth running car, came back 2 weeks later to find a car bucking and showing crazy and wild afr's. now what in the fucking fuck...

im out of ideas. I think... well shit i dont even know what to think.
Do I have a bad ecu connection somewhere?

If anyone has some insight as to what may be going on help is appreciated.

Time to update the AP, re-save the map in ATR, and try re-flashing the map again. Every single number in those logs looks bizarre. You have HPFP numbers about 10x what they should be, Boost fluctuations between 0 and 51psi...etc...etc...

1 was on my 19psi map, the datalog 7 was on the stock map. both cauased the exact same issue. why is maf voltage reading 0? could a screwed up maf be enough to cause this?

It looks super serious to me, like a messed up ECU, have u checked the ECU wires near the intake? I know sometimes they get chewed up if too close and it rubs.

I know I had some issues like that in my subie after coming back from a deployment. Fucking rat chewed through some sensor wires and I had to get part of the harness replaced.

no. but i have had the egr and cat codes turned off for a while. this is a very wierd out of the blue issue. im gonna look at teh wires by the intake, when i replaced it i needed to remove the plastic guard to get them around my PG tip. so i put about an entire roll of electrical tape over any exposed wires to keep them safe.

Looks like your cams arent cammin... either that or your headers aint headerin right o_O. yeah the logs pretty... interesting. Unplugging the battery for x amount of time, i think its 20 minutes, is supposed to reset the computer. The computer will still be on the same map, but fuel trims and the such will be zerod out.

Also, the car will run with the MAF unplugged, it just wont be too terribly happy and could possibly explain the MAF voltage = zero. Im assuming youve already checked that your MAF is plugged in, but if you havent... idk its hard to say without being able to look at the car.

Youre stft are bananas. Have you done a boost leak test?

What was the egr code too btw. A stuck open egr can cause drivability issues.

True, but i think he means EGR delete code. However, the EGR is supposed to be open at cruise correct? Does the issue go away when keeping a constant speed / rpm / load ...? Could be a quick and easy way to test that.

Update AP Manager
Delete all maps and data logs from AP
Update AP
Update ATR (non-beta)
Re-save map in ATR
Reload newly saved map to AP
Reflash car

If that doesn't work, uninstall the AP from your car, delete EVERYTHING from it, and go through the above procedure again. I think it's just an update compatibility issue.

PS - you have a massive leak in the intake or exhaust system, or your O2 sensor is screwed.

Correct. The only time it should be open is during cruise/low load/mild throttle.

If all is normal at idle I would say that we could reasonably rule out egr as a suspect. The symptoms should be close to that of a vacuum leak.

Do you have the egr blocked off op?

Edit: @phate; what do you think about egr as a suspect? I was originally leaning towards o2 as well, but then the op mentioned an egr code.

There was a recent ap manager update. Sorry if it was mentioned above but just caught the tag.

ap manager is up to date.
atr is up to date.
map is of the newest revision.

I went over and looked at every coupler i could access without removing the bumper.
Here is a question though and could lead from O2 issue to maf or leak, when i give it enough throttle to go to closed loop the car hits afr's how it should.

i really appreciate any help. im gonna try to make a leak tester of some sorts to try and rule it out.

If i cant get it by friday, i go back to work and will have more money to throw at this failboat.

That is a logging error without a single doubt in my mind. The columns are switched etc.

Mechanical issue may still remain, but @David@COBB; may be willing to have a look.

The idle depends on how the afr was when it came down
If it was a little rich due to a quick blip into closed loop it idles fine. If it was doing that pulsing shit then it does idle a bit lean. Like 15.2, but flickers around to 14.8.

The newer log shows how the previous issue with odd data went away.

Yeah it doesn't sound like a bad O2 to me or even a boost leak as I have had both issues in the past and my shit wasn't even close to as wacked out as those logs are.

I did the leak test. The shitty piece of shit Occ I have blew a gasket. All is remidied there. If I pressure up my intake the maf leaks... From internally somewhere....

While I am here I guess I could uninstall the AP.

Do you have anyone to swap o2 sensors with so you can rule that out?

No leaks on the exhaust side of things right?

Also I see now that you have your egr blocked off, so you can ignore all my ramblings about that in case you havent already.

Are the speed 3 genwon or pu the same?
@Sig_Nasty @Bob-o

I will however be gone for 5 weeks come friday so im not overly worried about it.
In 5 weeks i will be worried about it hahaha.

im thinking i will replace the primary O2 and the maf just because it is leaking from the housing... somehow. The oring is a little bit chewed, but with some diy gasketmakering it showed internal leaks...

Just fuckked.

I very much appreciate every ones help so far.

Forgot youre driving a speed 6. Youll need to find someone with a speed 6 o2 sensor. They are not the same as the gen one ms3.

I think, at this point, I would just clean the MAF sensor and replace the O-Ring. You were having a good bit of fluctuation in the MAF readings/STFT readings, but that was before you found the leak. Post up a new log and let's see what's happening now.

O-Ring part # is ZL01-13-214

I will need to remarry the AP. Thanks for the part number. I diy'd a gasket around the mounting face, still leaked.

@Swinger13

I JUST replaced my MAF sensor and I'm running strong. You can try out my sensor if you'd like.

And I have a spare one that does leak, not oem but I used it while leaking and it did well except under boost conditions where I ran really rich up top.

@Lex, @phate,@
Since I have 18 days till I see my car again, could I make a closed loop tune to keep my afr's from bucking wild like that?

Would that be a good idea? Like pull throttle to a Max of 25%, rpm limit to 3500 just so I can make it around to places because this is my only vehicle.

What have you done so far to try to remedy this? Have you cleaned the MAF sensor? Another test would be to unplug the MAF sensor and see how it runs.

IF it's the MAF sensor, a pure open loop or pure closed loop tune wouldn't help you. That's the source of all fueling calcs.

IF it's the O2 sensor, you could run a pure open loop tune to get rid of the O2 correction, but your maf cal would have to be spot on.

I had cleaned the maf before I left. Tomorrow I'm going to order a new maf and a new 02 and put them in then I will get back to you. I was just curious because when I cleaned the maf the problem remained. But when I went closed loop the afr's went to where commanded. I was just spitballing because I seriously dont know what to do.

Open loop is high/full throttle, is that what you mean?
