Default Smoking problem and crankcase pressure

Hi I just bought my gen 1 speed 3 2 weeks ago and I am dealing with smoking out of the exhaust and to much crankcase pressure Iíve been reading and Iíve done the 2nd gen valve cover with breather cap but now Iím getting oil out of the breather cap and still throwing smoke not as much as before I did the valve swap Is there anything else I can do? I was thinking of doing a vented catch can and a new pcv would that help out my problem at all?

i hope you didn't paid it too much....it will take good money to fix it.

Opening more windows to get the blow by out won't solve the blow by problem....a new engine will....(Assuming you really installed a gen2 cover with a baffle below the oil cap)

Unless it is just smoking at idle and it is your turbo...

Start by checking compression and leak down.

If it has decent compression (see above) the problem may have been fixed by what you have done to the PVC system, but perhaps too late to save the turbo seals. In that case it will be new or rebuilt K04 or BNR S1 time. BNR S1 is a plug and play duplicate of the K04, but with Garrett guts with much better bearings and seals. Same flow, so it runs like a K04 on any K04 OEM ECU or compatible tune.

This is what i think also, if the baffle isn't there, the chain just keep shooting oil into the breather at each engine turn...

I can take some later but it does have the baffle it only when I accelerate

If there is a baffle and it only spews oil on acceleration, then you have an ass load of blowby or something to generate enough airflow through the filter to carry oil with it.

Anything I can do to reduce it? Would a vented catch can do anything?

a good catch can with internal separator and condenser mesh could probably work better than the vented cap at trapping and condensing oil vapors but you will need to empty it at some intervals relative to your blow by....It remain a band-aid. (avoid a cheap ebay anodized can with 3/8'' barb connectors....)

have you pressure tested your intake PCV just in case you got a bad one once installed ? (I mean pressurising the intake and listen for leaks ? )
Engine compression test remain the thing to do first but just in case...

Interested in compression numbers, Could be doing this all on a worn out engine.
