So today i was doing some WOT pulls for my e-tune and my CEL came on. So i checked it out and i see the normal o2 slow sensor response and no o2 sensor activity stuff (im catless by the way so that explains those codes) but then i scroll down and see P0030: HO2S Heater Control Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 1). I never seen this in my life! I looked up the code and doesn't give much more detail than that! I think its the heater system but i dunno what! I was using the heater while i was doing the pull cause its like in the 20s here this morning but still shouldnt be an excuse for the CEL. Anyone have any ideas?

Um...Id check all fuses...see if it popped one. Is your heat working? Might have to take it to the stealership

I have the same problem with my car except my CEL is intermittent. I first thought it was the heater as well but then a friend told me that new o2 sensors have a heater circuit in them. The o2 sensor itself works fine and reads afr's fine but for whatever reason the heater circuit is not working.

That code is for the warm up heater in the wideband O2 sensor.. If the heater fails entirely, the sensor itself will fail a short while later...

Sensor #1 is getting to hot or not hot enough. It needs to be between a certain temperature range. Does EGT's get high without CATs or with CATs?

Damn so if it's a problem with the o2 sensor and I'm already getting those two other CELs then it is in fact on it's way out! Well I hope it isn't! So any possible fixes or just wait till it goes out and get a new one! I'm guessing it's the 2nd o2 also!

Bank 01 sensor 01 is the OEM wideband. You will sometimes get the slow response MIL if your using anti-foulers to try and fix the cat efficiency MIL. Running catless will not cause the "no sensor activity" that your seeing, that's an entirely seperate problem..

Weird thing is that im not using any ani-foulers or anything. I just put the o2 sensor sraight in the pipe. Its been 2 days now and not seeing anymore codes so i dont think its a huge problem yet but could be soon. SS what do you think could cause the "no sensor activity"? And from the CELs i've been having, does it realate to the primary or secondary o2 sensor? or both?

The codes refer to both sensors. If your not running an anti-fouler in the rear sensor, it's possible you have a problem with that one as well... They may have been damaged when you swap your DP..

Damn well that sucks! Whats weird is they only have been coming up in the past couple months. Ive had my DP in for almost a year now. And they only come up when im driving pretty hard or when i do about 10 WOT pulls in a row! Question though. If this means that they are failing, would that mean they are not giving accurate readings for AFR? AFRs look normal but if they are registering a different value then actual then that would throw off the whole ecu from accurate readings!

So this CEL is coming on now almost everyday. I played around with the wires that hook on to the first 02 sensor and still nothing..i looked in the shop manual and it doesnt give much to diagnose and cure the problem. Im thinking i might have to change out the first 02 sensor which i really dont wanna do! but if anyone has any other suggestions..it looks like it might be my only option. i also read that the CEL is really just an emmisions thing. think it'll be bad if i just leave it?

The secondary O2 isn't as important(it's used only to adjust the calibration of the primary O2 sensor and to monitor the cat), but you should still replace it when you get the time/spare cash...
