(Thread Starter) |  2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport spells sundown for old LR2 [w/video]  Land Rover is on the cusp of a complete overhaul, revamping its entire lineup and aligning it into three families. What you see here is the first step. Making its live debut on the floor of the Paris Motor Show today is the new Land Rover Discovery Sport. Previewed by the Discovery Vision concept and replacing the aging Freelander/LR2, the Discovery Sport will be the smallest member of the new Discovery family, taking aim at the likes of the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLK. Land Rover has still managed to pack in three rows of seats, though, while cloaking it with a new design language that's still instantly recognizable. Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbo four driving 240 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque through a nine-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels, with class-leading rock-crawling chops. All of which ought to make anyone forget all about the poor old LR2 - especially in that bright shade of orange.
