Video: Koenigsegg supercar crash in Poland injures at least 17 [w/video]

At least 17 people were injured over the weekend when a driver at Poland's Gran Turismo Polonia event lost control of his Koenigsegg Agera and crashed into the crowd. Video of the accident (scroll down to view, though be warned some scenes are graphic) shows the driver piloting his supercar down a straight stretch of closed-off road in front of spectators at high speed when it veers off to the right, hits a curb and plows into a group of spectators that included children before spinning around 180 degrees.

Reports on the number of injured range from 17 to 19 people, while four were reportedly seriously injured. As of the time of this writing, event organizers have confirmed that all but five people have been released from the hospital, and those who remain are now in stable condition. Amazingly, no deaths resulted from the accident. The driver, a Norwegian motorist, has been questioned by Polish authorities and was reportedly sober at the time of the accident, and organizers claim on the event's official website that, "He has previous experience with sports cars."

Gran Turismo Polonia is a three-day track-driving event at Tor Poznan race track in Poznan, Poland that attracted hundreds of supercars to the area.
