Not bad. I'm pleased with the results. Once you go black you'll never go back...

Nah, it's Somerset, MA. It's less than an hour to the Cape though, so good guess, lol.

Don't wax, Zaino, it will look incredible. I have a Black Mica 2008 GT, looks incredible after Z2, Z5 and CLS, plus it will protect and clean easier. Shine looks a foot deep. Nice pics by the way.

make sure you have plenty of the spray.

Take your time

Dont do it in the sun, garage is the best.

Wash your car first with dish soap, then clay, then wash again before waxing.

If your clay fall on the ground, fuck it, get a new one, you dont want sand rubbing on your paint.

Any more questions go to autopia.org, the ultimate detailing forum.

That does look really good. Very beautiful photos. It's funny you spent the time to do that and then parked on dirt and in a bush lol. It was worth it for the picture alone thow. Black looks amazing for the few hours it stays dust free after waxing. Clay does work wonders but is expensive and takes forver. Nice work.

Wow, that looks nice. I've had a clay bar sitting in my shop, I've have to do this after winter. How long did it take you?

I highly suggest using a paint sealer for Black. I have detailed incredibly lots of new and used cars with sealant and of course my own car. Out of 8 years I only buffed my car one time.

I wouldn't suggest driving around with the car only clay-bar'd. Use a wax or sealant on it now at least because you now have the clear coat completelyyy exposed and any sand, dirt, etc is going to scratch your clear coat and cause swirls....clay bar is a step in detailing, not the final part to making your car look new. Trust me on this...you won't be stoked when a million swirls pop up later...I have a black car too, I know

Old thread, dumb question here, but I don't want to start a new thread...

Do they sell the clay at Autozone, etc? I've never clayed, but I read about it, and every time I swing by the wash/wax section of an auto store, they never seem to have the clay bars I think. All I ever see is "quick detailer" and stuff in a bottle. I don't want any spray-on-tan type of shit.

So what brand of clay do you use? What kind of packaging is it in, like a tin can like wax or something?
