I didnt think of that... If I am sending a spare pump in to them I would assume that it would be returned with the same connector, but I wonder if their test stand works with the different connector.

IIRC that's exactly what you get when you buy the CP-E pump..

The APR pump seems to be more robust and have additional parts and testing, and it gets flow benched, for an extra $30. Seems like a deal to me. Lifetime warranty and near zero fail rate as well.

Well if they can change it it looks like a pretty good alternative considering cpe is out of stock frequently

Well I would just go with the cpe pump but if I were to go his route I would simply swap the spill valve which had the connector attached to it. So you send them your oem pump with their style connector and have your stock one on their pump.

Still I think this is sorta pointless.

The CP-E pump IS the APR pump...

One is no better than the other..except for the fact that CP-E actively supports the Mazda DISI community and APR has chosen not to..

Rofl I thought they claimed theirs was designed specifically for our car, if its the APR pump thats been farmed out to them then that claim its pretty dubious since the APR pump was specifically not designed for our car.

I do seem to remember them getting called out on 6club about being the APR pump, but I dont remember them owning up to it.

No wonder they cant keep them in stock, its not even their pump.

I think it fucking hilarious that so many people swing from cpe's nuts and proclaim they are the "only" ones to have designed a fp that works properly, when it was apr that did all the r&d and cpe takes the credit. I mean its cool that cpe offers it and doesnt mark it up anymore than apr does but what a joke that this whole site swears by "cpe's" pump when all along its been Apr's pump. Id buy from apr over cpe any day. Cpe has great products but imho they are overpriced.

Congrats on your new pump purchase and keep us posted on how it works.

It seems to me that you're Anti-CPE about 100% of the time, what would you call the exact opposite of a nutswinger?

If they're the same pump and cost the same why would you choose APR over CP-E?

They stock one for warranty claims, they dont usually have to worry about it but they do stock one though.

If they will switch the connector and its the same price then congrats on finding another option for people. no one here can deny though that if they wont switch it CPE is the only option. PTP is gone and garbage anyway.

Cpe never claimed that they make the pumps themselves for one.

2 people hang on their nuts simply because they never failed. There has been one failure since they began selling them.

They dont stock parts because they would simple replace the entire pump in case of a failure, which is very rare to happen.

The few failure that they have had was due to install error.

Cpe makes parts for arp as well so I dont see the big deal here.

Not 100%, but I do think they are overated. They make some cool parts for sure. I just have my reasoning, but its no big deal. In fact I have some cpe parts on my car because I have to. I just............ nevermind its not even worth it. Dont mean to rag on cpe they do some cool shit for the mazdas but its hard to get a bad taste out of your mouth you know? LOL

OP I too was looking at the one u posted and was hoping to get it but I'm not made of money and the KMD internals seem to be a good enough option for the performance/money. I'm building this winter so I need to decide whether to spend $934 on a whole new pump or $300 on internals that have seemed to work fine on big turbo cars NJSPEED3 included. Not meant to hijack I apologize regardless just here to learn and listen.

Im not sure about name. Also listen to me about what? I didnt tell anyone to do anything. I just didnt know apr made cpe pumps. REmember I was off the forums for 18 months. Just recently got back on. Just thought it was funny thats all, no biggie. Im "pumped' people are having good luck with apr "cpe" pumps. LOL that was my attempt at funny.

i wish I could say the same about my ptp pump. I havent been that lucky. Hopefully my new pump will work or I will have to buy a apr/cpe pump. Also unlike most the peeps on here I dont have a computer job I can research shit 12 hrs a day on. I work 60 hrs a week and find it hard during the week to even log in. Having two kids and hobbies other than the internet make it hard to research every lil thing I do. Most times I depend on vendors to keep me going and me just fucking with shit and learning. When this car first came out I learned everything on my own and posted all my findings. I will continue to do that as I can. Sorry if I came off angry I just have bad days sometimes and it shows in my posts. LOL

The name and the support.

APR has made a huge name for themselves in the VW community, but really you can get parts that work just as well at a fraction of the price. People still buy APR products frequently despite that painfully obvious fact.

Oh and epic bump btw.
