My hpfp is making a loud rattling noise and does not hold pressure under load. Pressure drops to 600psi at wot, 20psi boost. It used to hit 2000psi. What do you guys think it could be? Here's a data log in 4th gear: http://datazap.me/u/sfeldner/log-1447162387

Just attach the log, I'm not going into your drop box.

Do you run e? Have you cleaned the spill valve? Have you stopped going WOT with those pressure readings?

My autotechs are definitely noisy but have lasted 75k miles now in 2 different cars. It's the nature of the beast. But they have always held pressure over 1700psi in all logs over that time, always going well into the 1800s.

how do I attatch it? I haven't gone wot since I took that log. I'm running 93 octane and I haven't taken it apart and checked anything yet. it still hits 1700psi under light load while driving normal.

Just use datazap.me if you don't know how to attach it.

Are you on the computer or mobile? You should be able to attach it from either one.

Here it is, his log.

20PSI of boost, willingly, while knowing the HPFP may not flow enough. Man...

Added Log to OP
@sfeldner; maybe you shouldn't go WOT knowing it would go below 1600PSI..

Check your relief valve. Might be leaking

I remember another forum member had similar symptoms (not sure if he had also autotechs) and that two piece button seal from the end of the piston came apart.

So @sfeldner, stop going WOT, pull the pump and inspect it.

If it's making loud noises and not holding proper pressure you need to disassemble the pump and check for damage. It's not going to heal itself by going WOT.

Wow, knowing that you aren't holding pressure and still going WOT lol
pretty ballsy... but I guess that's the only way to get a LOG. Goodlluck brother keep me updated if problem is fixed. I have autotech and makes noise above 1650+ pressure which is light drivin and wot. im not sure our noises are similar. let me know if you want me to attempt to get the "noise" rattle on a video so you can compare it to mine. not trying to hijack the thread just wondering if my hpfp is eventually going to crap out on me as well.

I replaced the high pressure relief valve on the fuel rail and it fixed the problem. the loud rattling noise went away and it hits 2000psi at WOT. it also holds pressure around 430psi at idle now.
