I got impatient when I installed my PTP pump. Only idled it for about 12 minutes instead of 20. Then drove the 56 miles to work varying the RPMs but babying it. As I was leaving work I drove the few miles to the interstate in 2nd and 3rd gear at 5-6k rpms (low load, low boost), saw 2000psi holding fine, so when getting on the interstate I said fuck it and romped on it. 1700-1800 psi with no cuts. Been fueling like a champ with another couple hundred miles and a good 20 WOT pulls ever since. Never saw a single seize or cut since I put it on.

lenny, is it possible to install the cam up-side-down in the pump cyl and the pump not seize but drop pressure as a result?

i hope i havent been full of failure, was careless(when i took my time) and put the cam in the wrong way and thats causing the prob

Mine is now idling between 330-340, and I'm getting cut at medium throttle when fuel psi would drop heavily. It doesn't sieze, but at low RPMs it just can't supply the fuel. I'm guessing it's getting pretty scored and just can't flow as it should.

Been talking with John for a few months and have always had a bit lower pressure (~380) than I felt was normal, though everyone kept telling me it was fine and not to worry. About 2 weeks ago it finally got to be too much though, 340 idle just isn't acceptable and then it started cutting. Apparently more stock arrives Monday, I'll be getting a new one..

That sucks, evidence. Mine idles around 380 after I've been driving around a bit.
