CDFP O-Ring

So after noticing my car was leaking oil from around the FP area after I did the internals install, I decided to remove it and try to reseat it. Well when I took it off, I noticed that the o-ring on the outside of the pump was shredded. I had my buddy drive me over to lowes (it was close haha) and I picked up a new o-ring. I installed it and it does not appear to be leaking anymore, but I'm pretty sure this o-ring is not oil/heat resistant, its for a sink. Does anyone know where I can get one that is? How about the part number that Mazda uses? any info would be appreciated. thx guys.

oh and when you are installing your FP, make sure to evenly tighten the 3 E-Torx bolts to avoid pinching the o-ring like I did. I fail.

where'd you get it? I really don't feel like dealing with my dealer, they gave me so much shit last time for the radio trim squeaking and how they are not a mazdaspeed dealer and don't want to introduce other problems blah blah blah they suck.

just go to ur dealerships parts department and ask for it. Should be easy to discribe and find on the computer drawing...its the Oring that goes on the CDFP which seals it to the engine.

Might be crazy priced...like $4 or something...but oh well...and it might take a few days to ship in...but that would be the most reliable thing you can do...considering that is the actual O ring for that part.

And if the stealership questions why you need it...just fuck with them. Say something like...your building another MS3 out of spare scraps of metal and rubber...and ran out of rubber so u need to buy this O ring to finish it.

Damn thing was not cheap. $11 and change!

Is this o-ring a potential issue for full fuel pump replacements? I just installed my CPe CDFP and I didn't see any gaskets or o-rings. I thought that was odd.

You should have seen an O ring. Its on the part of the fuel pump that inserts into the hole on the engine block.

And Ive had to pull out my fuel pump from the motor at least 5 times...and I havnt had any trouble with the o ring. I just lubed it up with oil before I put it on.
