Default CDFP Solenoids

Jon -

Saw a post by Tru-Boost on the other forum that you now have some sort of updated solenoid for the CDFP to improve response.

Did I get that right and is that something I can purchase separately? I have 311's old pump and I dunno if that one has the solenoid fix or not?

Or should I just drink another coffee before reading??

I've been trying to get the part # for the new solenoids, but nobody seems to have them, or is willing to give them out.

I'd much rather just buy a new one from a vendor then go to a dealership and have to haggle to get one.

unless something changed, Mazda does not sell the CDFP solenoid seperately from the pump assembly.
Maybe with this new TSB, they might start????

They do not just sell the solenoids. You'd have to go directly to Hitachi which I've already tried to do.

Regardless, with the upgraded pumps the solenoid issue, is actually no longer of an issue.

the larger diameter piston allows for more fuel to be pressurized per stroke. the fuel pressure with an upgraded pump is about 150-200psi higher once the pin (from the solenoid) hits the cap and spring which feeds more fuel into the compression chamber for the fuel pump.

i have about 30 fuel pumps in the field now and no one is complaining. Some have sent in their pumps directly, some have received old cores and new cores, no issues yet. Just several phone calls from consumers stating 'Wow, your fuel pump does everything you said it would! Thanks Jon!"

So bottom line getting the TSB done if you are going to get Jon's rework isn't worth the time.

You don't want the TSB done if you bought Jon's pump!

Doesn't the dealer replace the entire pump (essentially with an updated solenoid)?
