Question Help with meth nozzle sizing

I bought a used custom single stage meth kit that comes with a Hago M1 nozzle:

http://www.icsindustrialservices.co....i%20nozzle.pdf

Can I get some advise on how to properly adjust it? I meant to just keep everything installed as is, since the system was set to spray at 8 psi, I was going to run a labonte progressive controller with it and forget about it...but the fact of running unknown amounts of meth doesn't sit well.

Thanks.

it is dirty but otherwise performs fine...came off a perfectly fine car.

besides...I can always change a nozzle, and that is why I ask for the advise.

Actually, it looks like the DO 'External' nozzle should work - and it's only like $4.95 as opposed to the $20 for the 'Internal' nozzle...

An M3 nozzle is well suited for the stock turbo. Not a fan of that 90 degree elbow but if it works ...

Is the kit progressive? The M5 is too large for the stock turbo. You need close to 20psi to make use of it at full blast - otherwise it just bogs down and you want to turn it on well below that 20psi mark.

I had an M5 on a progressive controller and moved down to an M3 since you get better atomization at higher pressures.

currently, I still have that M1 on there with that custom kit that doesn't really respond...I'm planning on replacing all of the "controls" with a Labonte VC-25 progressive controller, but haven't gotten around to it yet....hopefully by next week after I get a new baseline and before pro-tune...

Not sure about M3 being the same as the D03 - but definitely get the stage 2 kit and start with the D03.... Depending on your mod level, you may want to go to the D05 - both come with the kit...

Yeah these match the D01 = 1gph, D03 = 3gph, etc from the DO site...

Looks like the M nozzle is DO's "inside mount" nozzles and the D0's are "outside mount" nozzles.

Running mods in sig with factory K04 so I'll start out with the DO3, run off my MAP and start at 10PSI up to 20.

does that sound about right?

thanks

If I run 11s AFR with meth spraying the car is happy.

If I run 10s AFR with meth spraying, I get misfires due to the richness of the mixture.

a bit off topic here but if I currently target 11.8 AFR, when I run meth I assume I'll have to lean that target out?

Meaning if I change nothing I should see richer AFRs with the meth spraying?

depends what concentration of meth you run. with a mostly water mixture it wont affect AFRs much if at all.

still researching ratios but what little I have read with my mods and a K04 50/50 will be too much meth so IDK yet. What do you run?

Edit: I want to retract this post LOL I am a noob and I am dumb...Just spent and hour reading meth threads....will be running at least 5050. Higher octane rating = better that lower EGTs

Yeah, but there's a huge price difference - the external mount nozzles are about $20 apiece and the internal mounts are $5.

The MS3 stage 2 kit comes with the D03 and D05 nozzles (external mounting) Dano.

Yeah, you go back in time and major changes from 2011 forward. 2008-2010 looked as if we were doomed

the best is looking at old 6 club threads when people were logging FP and watching it drop and then doing ITFP upgrades to try and fix it hahahaha

and they thought it had to do with the cut (fuel/boost) as well lolol

ahhh those were the days...I came in late... or in the middle of it all depending on how you look at it and god was this car hard to figure out. Load cap, CDFP internal failures left and right...a ZZB every other week it seemed....just a pure mess for sure. Now we have 450WHP cars on stock rods/pistons.

We've definitely come a long way in a fairly short time and MSF provided an awesome fountain of information exchange that propelled the platform forward.

This group is top notch.

ahhh those were the days...I came in late... or in the middle of it all depending on how you look at it and god was this car hard to figure out.

This group is top notch.
woot i'll be joining the 450whp hp club soon and yes this club and platform has come a long ways. I remember when i first started modding my 07 MS3 there was only CP-E and Cobb at the time and now we have a ton of options.
