Default Hpfp output fitting possibly leaking?????

So recently I noticed a strong gas smell coming from the engine bay, popped the hood and with the car off I heard a faint hissing sound coming from the bottom of the Hpfp it's not where the hard line connects to the fitting but where the fitting goes into the Hpfp housing. now I replaced the internals months ago and it went smoothly can I tighten the 17mm fitting I was told that it shouldn't move when tightening the 19mm hard line. When I go to tighten it to see if the hissing will stop it does but I think it's moving both the fitting and the compression nut. Anyone else have this problem or know if I can tighten the 17mm fitting?
