Default Jacked up PTP pump plunger

In before John says that the scarring is normal. Pulled the PTP internals out and the PTP plunger was a bitch to pull out of the PTP cylinder. In contrast the Autotech plunger and autotech cylinder were smooth as butter.

The scarring is so bad it catches a fingernail running over it.

have your invoice ready and he'll honor your warranty.

if you have the autotechs still get a new PTP pump internals and I'll buy them off you for a good price.

These were in the car for maybe 2,000 miles and the third set of PTP internals, all installed by John. Haven't touched fueling tables in ATR. In tank pump tests out fine.

wow...

whats his excuse as to why he doesnt want to exchange em?

He didn't say he wouldn't exchange them. He said he wouldn't send out a replacement until he either received the old pump back or a deposit on the new pump he sent out (which would be refunded when the old pump was received in return.) Greg found these terms unacceptable and chose instead to be a martyr.

wow...this still continues...

when I thought my PTP pump went out I did have to send it back first but that is expected. John looked at the internals..called me and said they looked brand new....blah blah and 10 minutes later he said he couldn't explain my FP drop and would send the internals AND a new pump out to me that very day.

I got both back and the internals looked almost new...long story short he honored the warranty and as it turned out I am not even sure the pump failed as it might very well have been my FP sensor plug acting up and cutting fuel.

He also said he would refund then back tracked on that even though he has refunded customers before.

The fail is out of my car and quality parts are now installed.

yes that is obvious and my point was that even though John believed there was nothing wrong with the pump I sent back, he sent me a new one anyway.

of course that doesn't mean he treats every return the same but I have always keep open communication with him and it has worked out well for me at least.

you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar lol

Trying his internals for a 4th time isn't going to happen. They are already replaced with Autotech win from JP.

You make it seem like John is easy to work with. He's been trying to blame everything but his internals. I have Autotech internals now so NCE. Buyer beware.

I've never once had a problem with him . If anything It's been a pleasure to deal with him. I I sympathise with u if that's the case , but like I said for me and others I know and referred it has been a breeze.

Looks like he is plenty easy to deal with if you aren't hell bent on being a jackass.

And what he is trying to do is figure out why they keep failing on your car. Something failing in the same way in approximately the same amount of time on the same vehicle would tend to indicate the possibility of some kind of underlying condition.

But this is the 3rd pump to fail. I would be pissed off too if I had to keep removing and sending that pump in over and over again. Bad luck or not, these internals failed hard for Greg, and he should at least be given a refund.

According to John they have all failed in different ways. They have also failed at different amounts of time. 6 months, 1 year, 2.5 months.

That scarring looks more like parts failure than from any other cause I can think of, honestly. Especially if they were in a pump John assembled himself.

Bite the bullet, send Greg new a new pump with a prepaid box to send the busted one back. Or, just send him a prepaid box for the pump and send him a refund when you get the pump back. Don't make him work for it, he's already complied and suffered failure of 3 pumps.

I would have to agree , there may be another problem there . I was running the stage one and I was making crazy power on them , but we decided to go stage to so there was no way the pump would be an issue at those power levels.

My apologies on that part then. I thought I remembered you saying they failed after about the same amount of mileage between pump 2 and 3.

I went through this with John when he came back on the forum to try and fix the problem everyone had with his pumps. he just stopped messaging me, I called and left messages, he never returned the calls. I believe Joel had the same problem with this also. i guess some people are just luckier than other's when it comes to dealing with John.

in the end. CP-E pump is what it was replaced with.

Joel bought his 2nd hand from fagwagon. Despite John trying to work out something with Joel, Joel's preference was also to be martyr.

These are isolated instances of John being terrible at customer service. 1 or 2 people can become "martyrs" but there comes a point where his customer service and/or his product is shit.

There is also a reason he is banned from these forums and SRT forums and it is highly related to his commitment to happy customers.

Issues arise with all vendors/manufacturers but there are a good number of them on the forums still because people don't experience such a high rate of dissatisfaction.

A quick google of PTP John directs you to a SRT forum where in a poll 50% of the people had bad experiences with John.

As Erich's car is proof John can do some pretty amazing car work but he lacks the ability to work with customers in a proper manner.

I wasn't aware his was second hand when he had issues. regardless, I had purchased a few things from John before the pump without issue, the pump was the only thing I had a problem with, which ultimately wasn't taken care of. old news now, no point in being angry.

either way I still planned on probably picking up one of his RV's.
