Meth inline filter

Thought I'd share...

I have been searching high and low for a good compact push to connect inline filter for my meth kit. The location I have my pump and tank doesn't allow for the bulker ones like AEM/DO has.

After some research I bumped into this The Clear-VU EZ Connect Filter
I guess the target market is the food and beverage industry but from what I have been able to find out all the materials used have very good compatibility with methanol.

The plus side is they will send you a sample for free.

Overview:
-PET housing has best compatibility rating http://www.plasticseurope.org/Docume...-003-EN-v1.pdf
-EPMD or Buna-N O-ring both have has excellent compatibility Chemical Compatibility Database from Cole-Parmer
- SS (gripper teeth in push to connect) has excellent compatibility
-Compact and clear for easy viewing
-10 or 48 micron filter (I'm going to test for adequate flow on both but I believe there would be no issues with the 48 micron filter)

Awesome. Definitely interested in this. Let me see if I can research methanol compatibility.

Installed. These are non-serviceable but cheap at $7 ($25 minimum order)... 48 micron flowed much better so I am using it. Just need to test some more and cut the tubing a bit longer...otherwise it's perfect with my setup.

1/4 inch... but after some testing it seems that it might be restricting some flow at the top end (6k rpm and up)... I am not 100% until my tuner confirms. Will update.

@specvspeedfreak; Do you have your inline filter installed on the feed or pressurized side of the pump? I would really like to install an inline filter just prior to my methanol flow gauge, but none of the ones I've seen so far (this one and the AEM I bought) are rated for 200 psi. I'm wondering though if this one would be usable at 200 psi despite its "rating".

Feed side.. why would u want to install it on the pressurized side?

I want a filter in between the pump and my flow sensor. So if the pump throws particulates as it wears out, they don't kill my flow sensor.

I've been looking for another filter ever since my check valve got clogged open.

I ordered one so I'll give it a try and get back with my findings.

I asked for a sample of the 48 and 65mm. They sent me 2 of each.

Just an update.. I don't think there's a problem with filter.. I tested and verified the same (small) amount of KR without running the filter... My meth mixture or tune will need to be adjusted a bit, that's all.

If your pump has the 3/8 NPT fittings, I would look at going 3/8" hose and the 3/8" version of the filter to reduce resistance and most likely increase surface area.

Just received a 65 micron filter as well.. once I figure out my KR issue I will go back to the 48 micron (test again to verify of course).. but it doesn't seem the filter is the issue so far.

If you have your tune dialed in; I would recommend using the 48 micron filter... the only reason I thought it was an issue was due to lack of logging prior to the filter being installed... so it was just process of elimination for me.

I've been running the 48 micron now for a couple weeks and I have not noticed any negative affects. Presumably the filter can flow 10gph no problem so there was no flow loss.

I haven't had my check valve get stuck open either since install so I'll say it's doing it's job well.

Good to hear... I am in the midst of upgrading to S4 over S3 so I'll wait till then to re-install the filter.

Yeah I use it for daily driving but for the dyno the other day I took it out juuuust to be safe
