(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I have been wanting to do this for a long time now, after I got a good deal on the power shot system from NOS, I still slacked on doing this for a while. That was until I saw Tom's car at the EECM back in April. I was impressed to say the least at what he was able to do with a nearly stock speed 3. I knew right then I was needing to get off my ass and get to the install. I started off with a water meth controller from Cooling Mist, I chose this unit mainly for the ability to fire the meth pump based off of both MAF voltage and a boost reference signal, it also incorporated an grounded output that I could set to come on at any boost level. I have this feature set to 10 psi. This is the start of the control circuit for the N2O. Next is an RPM window switch. This switch can start and stop a circuit at a desired RPM level. This is a pretty basic unit, but it gets the job done. In order to get a good tach signal on these cars, an Autometer tach adapter needs to be wired in. Part number 9117 The next part of the circuit is a simple master control push button mounted in the ash tray. The control voltage is taken from the cigarette lighter, since in these cars the lighter power is switched with the ignition, a good safety measure to have if I leave the system armed and shut off the car, everything will go dead. First button on left is the master arm, second button is the thermostatically controlled bottle heater, the third button is empty right now but reserving it for a remote bottle opener, the fourth is a momentary button used for the purge. From the master control button, the circuit continues down to the clutch pedal. If the clutch pedal is depressed the slightest it will break the control circuit. Then onto the accelerator pedal switch, it needs to be pushed to the floor before it will let the control circuit travel to the main fuel/N2O relay After the accelerator pedal, it travels to the main relay under the driver side headlight. Once the relay is triggered, the fuel/N2O solenoids are opened. Top solenoid is the purge, the bottom two are the fuel/N2O. Fuel Tap The routing of the lines Bottle heater I do not have any logs, as I only had enough time to do a couple of short test runs tonight before it got dark, and I only have the window switch set up to spray for 500 RPMs during the trial runs.

Damn! That's legit. So now you have it set up automatically...with some guards as well...very cool. But, I want the steering wheel button just so I can say "too soon jr."

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I wanted to, but halfway through the install I knew it was taking longer than I expected, so I just routed the purge through the cowl and let blast over the windshield. At a later date I will route a line and install a spray bar for the I/C.

Everything looks clean and well thought out. All you need to do is somehow hide the bottle and nobody would know what you were running.

I was talking with a buddy last night about this. Shit looks awesome man. He thinks just a small 15 shot along with this cooling mist kit will do the job. Apparently hes got a ton of bottles of military spec washer fluid (65%) that he will give me a case of it for nothing. Thanks for posting pics as well, i just might be going this route before summer ends.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Good question. I did think for a while about doing a standalone fuel enrichment system, and running Ethanol in the fuel cell. It was quite expensive, and would complicate the install, along with using a different fuel solenoid. http://www.nitrousexpress.com/produc...ls.php?id=1488 I absolutely would not trust the meth pump to deliver the meth to the nitrous nozzle. I <3 Tom too.. EDIT: I did add another 550cc meth injector that sprays at the same time as the N2O to help curb KR. Right now I am spraying 1100cc of meth at the same time as the N2O

I don't think you would need all of that, just tap into the washer tank, and use the Coolingmist to power on the pump and solenoid.

I think I understand what you are talking about now. Just use a single nozzle (like in a dry shot system) and then use the meth to supplement as the fuel source, using a separate meth nozzle. I guess I did not think of it that way, but it would still leave the balance of the system depending on the a meth pump. IDK .. it would probably work fine, but using a wet shot set up insures that a proper AFR is always there. That actually would be a good experiment for Bucker to try, I think he is running a dry shot.

I would think that you run the line directly to the nitrous nozzle, using a methanol solenoid, and a methanol safe fuel nozzle, and be done.

Well, there goes all my credit lol. Beautiful install Scott! I was in such a pinch for time and didn't get the opportunity to set my switches in the ash tray like you did, very clean. Need to get me a window/boost switch so I can delete that stupid fucking button I have as well. Now go kick some ass and roast some tires!!

Thanks for the insight, for some reason I would have thought there would have been a bigger difference. But what do I know, this is my first attempt at the giggle gas.

| Not Ranked : 0 score If you are not already running alcohol of some sort, the gains will be much more significant. ie. a gas car adding the methanol supplemental fuel and the nitrous will make more power and be MUCH safer than a gas car with nitrous and skewed fueling tables.

Now I add the wet shot of N2O. If the jetting is correct, the fueling tables should not need to be touched. Now the meth stops. What happens? Does the car lean out? It should to the point of where I had to skew the fueling tables, but there is still some fuel, albeit 93 oct, still being introduced. If I have a dry shot, and add the meth for the supplemental fuel, then the meth stops, but the N2O does not. Where does that leave the fueling? There are safeties that could be done to shut the N2O off at the first drop off of flow from the meth. I am only asking because I truly do not know which way is the best. Sorry for the questions, I am a total newb at N2O

There are multiple ways to tackle the challenge. My solution is to simply target a lower AFR (1-1.5 point richer) and to spray a dry shot. I will be adding a fuel solenoid eventually though, and turning it into a wet shot. I think that simply running a properly jetted wet shot off of the low pressure side of the fuel system, combined with an e85 mix to be the best solution. This will allow for you to stay below a maxed fuel system while properly meeting the fuel demands on and off nitrous. EDIT: To answer your scenario, if the meth stops, the car will run at the AFR it would be at without meth. The supplemental fuel from the wet shot is entirely consumed by the mix with the additional O2 from the nitrous.
