I'd only be concerned about how well the water atomizes before hitting the compressor blades. Other than that I see neaux harm

I an ot a huge fan of this. it does bring up the risk of damage to your turbo. I would put the nozzle on the outlet side just to be safe.

If it's just water it'll take some time before you see issues. Meth however will eat away any coatings on the turbo and also do a number on the turbo seals.

How exactly would you have it setup to spray? MAF voltage? Because a boost switch wouldn't really work considering the intake track isnt under the same pressures your intercooler piping would be.

Water will restful it faster then meth. The density of water is way higher , it will be like throwing sand pellets at it.

Easiest way? Get a different turbo.

Lightening and reshaping the compressor wheels is the best way to increase compressor efficiency. That's the difference between the regular GT series and FP HTA series of Garrett turbos.

I don't think it's ever a good idea to throw cold water at a super-heated compressor wheel/body. That's the fastest way to crack the turbo casing or wheel.

Honesty i have had many customers do it. I personal would not because i am not looking for the last .10hp out of my app. More methanol in the mixture the less likely of it causing damage. The density is what make the water damage more than the methanol.

Correct. Due to turbo location, or rather radiator cross-member in relation to turbo, I can't see the impeller, and can't really get a camera in to get a picture. I will try again when I have the grill off, whenever that is.

You do realize the turbo is on the opposite side of the engine bay from the radiator, right? i'm doubting that you even know what a turbo impeller is.

ok, sorry to go against what is being said by some but it works and works well.

I and many people I personally know run it and have for quite some time.

no visible damage to any of the compressors in any of the cars I am talking about. all 1st hand, plus all those I have talked to on the internet. As long as you keep your droplet size small, its a non issue. I use a 250psi pump and Aquamist nozzles.

compressor is not super heated, its not that hot at all. we are not injecting into the exhaust wheel, but the compressor side.

boost switches can be used to switch anything. its not using the air in the intake pipe, its using the boost to trigger a switch. it doesn't matter where the switched unit is. the boost switch could turn on a light in the trunk, its just some wiring not boost pressure.

plus, its very effective. with no other changes except for one more nozzle and this one pre turbo, i was able to go from 21-22 psi max(gt3076R) to 27+ probably be able to go over 30 once I get a map sensor and boost gauge that will work at those pressures.

its just a small 0.7mm nozzle. I already was running 2x 0.8mm nozzles post turbo.

i run aggressive timing maps too and fairly lean a/f ratios, in the mid-high 11s at high boost and rpm.

Derek, the China Charger is fairly cheap right? Why not give it a shot? I would look into a bit more sophisticated of a setup where pressure is maintained - so throw at least a check valve in there if you don't have one already.

Also run as small a nozzle as possible with the highest pressure possible.

I was seriously considering going with an M1 with 100% meth at the inlet of my K04, but then it died and there is no need for it with the new turbo.

It can work and essentially has the effect of expanding the compressor's efficiency island farther to the right by dropping the temp in the inlet/volute.

You just have to make damn sure that you are only sending atomized mist into the compressor and not a running stream. Nozzle placement is critical.

hehe, you guys crack me up. Just run a small like a do1 or do.75 nozzle and your going to be fine, As nozzle size are smaller in the system you can really keep the pressure high in the system.
