225/FORTY/18 on stock ms3 wheels...anyone? just curious as i see mostly 225/45/18 as the option tire... yes, shorter sidewall, etc, but i'm just curious if anyone made this choice. thanks y0 |
I've seen people rub iwth 225/45 in the back (just because its taller overall diameter). I would go with 225/40, especially if you're lowered or carry around a lot of fat chicks |
fat chicks ftw |
i did this setup with stock suspension, no rubbing, low road noise, grip great. I went with kumho's |
I rocking (225/40/18's) - Yokahoma Parada spec 2's on stock wheels, no rubbing whatsoever and performance is great! |
I wonder why 225/40/18 require 7.5" wheels when 225/45/18 require 7". That always bothered me and will probably influence my choice of tire when the time comes. |

the thing i'm concerned about is i have 15mm spacers on stock wheels with stock tires. i'm lowered about 1.25" in the front and 1" in the rear. i didn't really have to roll because it worked out pretty well w/o, but i did; i can't figure out how much room i gained with the roll but i'm curious if it's 5mm (which is what i'd need if i jumped up to a 225). if it's not 5mm that i gained, it's close! so i'm thinking that if i went with 225/40 the chances that it'd work would be that much better for me. |
