Car going to left and right sensitive?? i have a 08 speed3 with about 16k miles on it, now the car its been really sensitive on the road whenever i let go of the wheel its slowly goes to the left i always have to grab the steering wheel hard when im driving because the car just wont stop going to the sides whenever i drive under something i hit a lil bump and the steering wheel just goes crazy to left or right i already did and alligment nothing still the same? any suggestion something broken or whats up? thanks |
you probably need new tires. 16,000 on those bridgestones is starting to reach the limit. How much tread is left on the front tires? there's always the chance the alignment wasn't done right. This happened to me when I got an alignment done at a tire shop and not the dealer. Had to have it done a second time by the dealer to fix the other shop's screw up. |
i changed the tired about 2 months ago :/ |
Drifting to the left is a tire/alignment issue. Start by checking your tire pressure. Wheel going crazy on bumps could be a bad strut but without the car in front of me that's a guess. Peak at the front struts and see if they're leaking. |
Take it to the dealer, but don't be surprised if they tell you it's normal for the car. If you're driving on uneven roads, you'll feel the car pull to the sides. |
I have the same problem, i also posted a thread about it and every bright idea (just like here) has already been done and didn't answer anything best bet is to bring it to the dealer and just complain to them |
The OEM tires are very sensitive to tread depth and pressure. They want to hunt in ruts and crowned roads a lot. It might be a internal tire problem you could try switching the front and rear tires on the left side and see if there is any change. It has been a long time since I have seen a new tire with an internal cord problem but it does happen. |

Why are you taking your hands off of the wheel long enough for it to drift again? It was designed to have sensitive steering, hence the high performance "Mazdaspeed" name it carries. |
Check your tire pressures, then your alignment. When I first switched to the wider Falkens this summer it was very sensitive to road ruts ("tramlining"). On a perfect road it tracked straight and true. Bumping up the tire pressure 4 psi or so made a huge difference, tramlining was reduced and the car just felt much better on poor roads. I kept playing with tire pressures and settled on 6 psi above stock for the best feel. Since discovering this I have also started experimenting with my winter tires, settling for now on 4psi above stock. Again tracking and feel have improved, though I don't know if it will have a negative effect on traction on snow/ice, there hasn't been enough of either to tell. After a drastic temp change the car starts wandering again and sure enough, tire pressures have dropped. |
