Darksun gets New Rims
 

OK So I finnaly got in my rims and if you didn't know when I went to order the 16x8 rota slips I was informed Rota doesn't make them any more and only has the sport bronze in the ware house. I confirmed this with 3 other places and said F-It and i'll order them. I was going to paint them but I got impatient and threw them on anyway. here are the pics. Sorry my car is so dirty.

LOL I know the guys who put them on loved it cause they know civis with the red sport bronze thing. I got good tires the kumo ASX's but I have so much side wall inital response is alittle numb but on my dash hawk I picked up to more miles per hour so now im up to 12.9 @ 115 and I was 12.9 @113.
I hook up alot better on the 225 tires and there alot lighter so I shaved another 50 pounds off the car on top of it being gutted. my was was 3020 with almost no gas or me in it so when i go weigh it again Im hoping for 2970.

Track rims which is exactly where im heading on friday plus I plan on running nitto 555r's all next summer and you need a 16 inch rim to do that. 4 tires cost me 240 shipped for a 16 inch rim thats cheap as hell.

I want a 13.1-3 and a nice 110-112 trap. Anything else is a bonus. Its not like Im crazy about the color cause I really wanted black BUT the sport bronze doesn't bother me so it stays. shit i weighed them at 15.5 pounds so i'll take it.

What is the offset of those? If they had some poke and you were slammed they would look amazing but as of now I am not a fan. I appreciate the function aspect though.

48 off set. They poke alittle bit. I'm going to get the HR springs dont know if I want that for the winter though.........

nah rota stoped making the 16x8 rota slipstreams. The 16x7 sell like hot cakes cause honda boys love em and I could have gotten any color I wanted in a 16x7 but I would NEVER be able to fit a decent tire on there. I had to suck it up and go with the sport bronze. I'm just happy they don't bother me.

16's don't look so bad in person in my opinion, but on internet pictures they look like total poo. I just got my 17 pound 16x7 winter wheels/tires put on and the weight difference feels HUGE in roll-ons and coming out of corners, not much difference in straight line "feel" for me anyway.

I'm so mad I decided to stop at the gas station before I hit the track and the fucking guy put 87 octane in my car. I was screaming on the dude but the damage was already done. First run was 13.5 @104 and second run was 13.6@ 104 but the knock was so bad I had to pack it in early. 9 degrees of knock FTL, and that was with meth imagine with out.........

good news is with a half tank of gas, my new wheels, and me in it my car it weighed in at 3280 vs my original 3454 weight with full interior stock rims

looks fine to me, but I'm ok with smaller wheels.

You'll like the ASXs. coming from the 18s you'll definitely notice the sidewall flex, but they are pretty good tires. They suck in anything more than maybe 2 or 3 inches of snow, but are driveable as long as the tread is still pretty deep. I don't think they can be beat for the price.

nice rims i was going to get the same ones but polished but they stopped making them too bad i'm getting fd rims soon

yup thats why I had to get the Sport bronze they had left over in them.

Ive noticed not to many MS3 owners are tinting there windows, although I do love it but if I get paid tomorow instead of monday im getting limo on the back sides, maybe 50 for the back window and 50 for the driver/passenger.

Nah I'm leaving them they grew on me I just need a drop real bad but all my money is going towards getting my turbo on in the next three weeks. if I find an extra 200 bucks I'll pick up some springs. Its weird once they dig in there fine but for dipping back and forth its alittle sketchy. I launch a whole lot better though with the huge side wall and 225 width tire.

There ultra all season tires Kumo ASX's so i'm gonna scrap it out in the snow. All honesty there my winter/track rim tire package. The rims I wanted to get were much prettier but were too heavy and 17's. You should take a ride in my car now since I made more power + gutted it + got the lighter rims Its a little stock turbo monster.

stock mazda3 rims fit on them also and they are 16's! i use to rock those bad boys lol
