you can swtich the monitor out with out dismounting the tire! all u gota do is get the tired guy to push the sidewall down so you can slip it in there

i had to have this done when i painted my rims and forgot to the bring the monitor and they guy just put a reg valve stem in it!

get a small tube, put all 4 sensors in it, pressure the tube to 35psi.. put in glove box..

You cannot just put the TPMS sensors in the spare or a container pressured to 35 psi. The sensors activate with centrifugal motion of a moving wheel to preserve battery life. No spinning wheel, no sensor activation. But on the other hand toyota and lexus are diffrent. You just place the sensor in a pressures container and it will go away.

Just another thought. You can always take the light out. I did it and takes about 30 min.

Good luck..

good information, i cant see not using them though, if i hit something in the road, i always look down at the dash to see if i blew a tire.. good piece of mind

hmm, happen to remember what wire the light runs off of? would be great to just be able to interrupt the wire with a switch so you could turn it off when you don't have wheels with the tpms modules on - and switch it back on when you do.

Just a heads up. When I changed out my stock rims with after market, Discount Tire added new sensors all the way around for $35 bucks. My suggestion would just go to Doscount, or a comparable tire shop, and have them installed, and you dont have to worry about it anymore..
