Hub bore

I bought some rays ss7, the wheel bore is 60.1, ours is 67.1, how do I make this work? I'm about 30 seconds from just dremeling them out
Thanks

silvapain 11-07-2012 03:19 PM

take them to a machine shop and have them machine the bore to 67.1 mm. You don't want to do it yourself.

Stangcobra 11-07-2012 03:20 PM

No machine shop locally will do it

m4tic 11-07-2012 03:21 PM

sell them

Crarrs 11-07-2012 03:30 PM

Don't use a Dremel on your expensive aluminum wheels.

The stance is still strong with this one.

madspd6 11-07-2012 03:36 PM

Buy spacers and remove the lip for the hub. One can never be to herrafrush...

Haltech 11-07-2012 03:38 PM

Fail for not even knowing the hub bore to begin with.

Stangcobra 11-07-2012 03:40 PM

Big fail :/
So if I buy 3mm spacers they should fix the issue? I was thinking of just buying hubcentric rings and flipping them around lol

This

Get them to lathe them.

Send them out if no one locally can do it. Did you buy them new?

Stangcobra 11-07-2012 03:43 PM

Bought them used, the speed is my daily and I don't have much money, a machine shop is off the table.

pzr2874 11-07-2012 03:44 PM

Resell em then. Or hold onto them until you get the cash to get them done.

Stangcobra 11-07-2012 03:49 PM

Not an option, need them fixed in the next few days, I don't see how spacers would do it, could I flip hubcentric rings like I was talking about?
I have no time, no money, no place to store wheels, hence why I just need to fix this

Boost Addict 11-07-2012 03:52 PM

Just get a spacer big enough to cover the bore so that when you put the new wheels on it wont hit it. You will get a lot of vibes though at high speeds

You can't put on stock rims for the time being?

http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...1&d=1352328746

Stangcobra 11-07-2012 03:56 PM

I don't have stock wheels, I have my rotas and these rays

dpolseno41 11-07-2012 04:04 PM

It would seem that you're getting what you deserve.

Todd98SE 11-07-2012 04:14 PM

Why cant you use the Rotas until you have the money to properly bore the Rays? Or just sell them and buy the correct wheels?

What size are the Rays anyway? including offset

Pendarus 11-07-2012 04:23 PM

Well if you have no time, money, or storage...sounds like you need to sell them.

To do it correctly you need an adapter. Yes, you can just put a spacer, but that is dangerous in that if you get the wheel too off center from your hub you have issues. Do it right or don't do it.

The proper way to fit them is either get them re-bored, or buy a set of real adapters that are hub concentric and have a lip for the wheel to be concentric to the hub/adaptor as well.

Buy Adapter | Motorsport Tech

There is a configurator for custom adapters. A decent set of adapters is going to cost you a bit...probably as much as it would to get the wheels bored (If the wheel construction allows for this).

There's also the issue of what you're going to do to your suspension geometry using an adapter...but fuck knows you don't give a shit about that. Not to mention the extra weight of an adapter.

In short...sell the wheels and get some that fit the car without doing all this adapter/boring nonsense.

Dremel?...really?...

You're really fucking dumb if you think flipping hubcentric rings is going to make a large hub fit into a smaller bore. Didn't you play with the "square doesn't fit in the triangle" toy as a toddler? Do you still play with that?

LOL,. bravo...

You fucked up, you bought wheels without researching. WTF were you thinking?

Stangcobra 11-07-2012 04:44 PM

I'm an idiot, we've established this, just trying to fix this issue. I'm just going to pick some spacers up and see if I can make this work.

pzr2874 11-07-2012 04:46 PM

Dude, dont spend more $ to continue this shit.

lilred 11-07-2012 04:47 PM

Who can lend him stock wheels?

m4tic 11-07-2012 04:49 PM

Your posts are nothing, if not entertaining. There has to be a local shop either in Riverside, Fotucky, or the SGV that can do you.

Your growing pile of epic failures are starting to overshadow Gale and I, combined.

I say play on player. ;)

CamSpeed360 11-07-2012 05:14 PM

I feel bad for your car. I bet its suicidal.

PapaSmurf 11-07-2012 05:22 PM

YOU'RE FUCKED

HIDE YO KIDS

HIDE YO WIFE

Stangcobra 11-07-2012 05:48 PM

I don't get it though, if I stay Stanced I get hate, and if I try to unstance I get hate
Maybe I should just make my car levitate, no more wheel problems

pzr2874 11-07-2012 05:50 PM

It's your car, do what you want.... These guys are just making points.

Haltech 11-07-2012 05:57 PM

It seems you don't want to listen to any advice. Seeing as you bought wheels that aren't even Mazda compatible in the first place, tells me you aren't taking this seriously.

Stancing to begin with, allows me not to take you or others seriously.

Today's youth...

Todd98SE 11-07-2012 06:09 PM

Sell MS3, buy Scion, go herrafrush, problem solved.

Do it right, or don't do it at all. You are doing it wrong.

You should just stop being so retarded.

I've never commented on your posts but I'm sure I've read them all.

Good lulz though.

Stangcobra 11-07-2012 06:28 PM

Made it work temporarily. Probably going to flip these along with the other wheels I'm getting and try to find a set of TEs in my price range once these and the other set are gone

Good luck finding a set under 9.5 wide and/or offset higher than +30

Stangcobra 11-07-2012 07:21 PM

This is true, maybe ill just buy stock wheels and a BNR

I have stock Pu rims for sale in the Gen2 F/S section. Cheap for you!

Micha 11-07-2012 08:05 PM

pu wheels suck.

SleeperHatch 11-07-2012 08:45 PM

I have stock wheels you can borrow if you don't fuck them up

Stangcobra 11-07-2012 08:54 PM

If one of you could bring stock wheels to nator that would be awesome, I should have the whole situation sorted by then but if I dont...yeah it could be helpful

SleeperHatch 11-07-2012 08:56 PM

I won't be at nator so you would have to pick them up some other day before then

Micha 11-07-2012 09:09 PM

I might show up to norco just to lend you my wheels.
