I think he was just looking for someone who knew more about light-weight track wheels...although a google search would have provided sufficient info. TSW's are good, but aren't they relatively heavy in the scheme of things? I would definitely look into Rota, everyone knocks them for being a one off of high end track wheels, but when shit hits the fan those are top knotch in terms of bang for your buck.

enkie... volk... Team Dynamics unfortunately... your prob going to need to buy something used.. for real savings.. look up the wheels weights... bronze is just a color.. anything can be painted or powder coated... light weight(forged) wheels are typically more money... so cheap.. & light weight.. are kind of oxymoron's ..... ... well unless you go w/ a rota... & the ratings on them are.. ehhh.. some people love them... some people hate them.. personally i ONLY buy good stuff... If i'm cornering hard/fast.. I want to know my spokes arent going to snap due to heat. GL

I was looking for members with experience with wheels. I know anything can be powdercoated, but it would be nice to buy a brand new set of wheels and them be the finish I want. I've searched google, and numerous wheel websites. No one seems to make a wheel that I like in our offsets and width without paying a crazy price. |

When you want function, and you want lightweight, you must consider rigidity. That costs money. Enkei uses MAT Technology (PF01, RPF1). I am not sure what other companies like Wedssport or Rays use, but it works.

if you really want to skimp on the cash, you can try looking for evo 8 or 9 rims. the 17s from the 8 or the 17" bbs from the 9 will work well. The original evo 8 rims are easiest to find and you can find them for $300-400 a set in excellent shape on CL usually. Take em to get powder coated, you can try to plasti dip em or have em painted in the bronze you like. All in all you shouldn't be out more than $800 depending. Evo 9 BBS rims will be harder to find but better IMO but also a bit more expensive. if you don't want 17s, then the evo x 18 enkei rims will do the trick, can be found for $500-600 on CL often. New Enkei rims are good, I swear by the enkei race line all very good rims. But fitments and sizes are a bit off for my tastes. on the evo 17" rims you'll be able to get some nice wide meaty tires on there, and the 17s will cost a lot less than 18s too. |

How much do they 5zigen's weigh? Does anyone know how much the rest of these 18 incher's weigh? Specifically the Evo 10's and the RPF1's? what about Rx-8's? I've found conflicting info on these.

I have read 20-23lbs...I can throw the wheels w/mounted tires on a scale to get a total weight.

Yeah, I've heard that RX-8's are lighter and wider than the stock Speed3 wheels. It's why I run them, not to mention you can get a set pretty cheap and refinish them easily, as well no issues with fitment.

I'm running Rx-8's as well. They are 18 x 8 and look great wrapped in 235/40. I'd love to hear what Goobs combo weigh's. |

I'm aware that I can't get the best of both but there are tires that fit the bill. Saving up first. This is my 2x4 mock - up.
