need help picking rims My car ate the curb really bad and I always wanted some black rims on my cwp ms3. I want 18 x 8.5 Light wheels Black Must fit 215/45/18 What offset do I need to combat rubbing what 18 x 8.5 wheels well require the least modifications to fenders. Or should I be looking at 8 inch wheels instead The car is in the body shop now and 3/4 wheels are fucked and I'm not going to read a thousand posts about wheels I just got in a wreck please point me in the right direction |

MILLIGRAM BLACK Go with the +45 offset and you should just have to roll the rear. |
I edited op I can't get new tires what will fit 215 45 18 |
215's on an 8.5 will be stretched quite a bit. There are a ton of decent wheels that are light in 18x8. What style do you like... mesh, spoke etc? |
I like the style of the milligram I don't like giant thick.spokes like oem |
Yea if you need 215s, your more in the 7.5 to 8 range. Even on an 8 inch wheel the 215s could be a bit stretched. |
be original, get black RPF1s. lol (that being said, I love those rims and they do come in an 18x8) |
Will 215s survive on 8 inch rim and do I still want the offset to be 45 for 8 inch |
I realize I'm just a brownie noob, but there is a thread (or 20) about this very subject. :) http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...ng-you-101473/ |
Yes I know |
Why limit yourself to the OEM tire size especially with the power level you are at? I would consider 235/40s on an 18x8 or 18x8.5 and the overall diameter is quite close to OEM. |
Because I already bought these oem tire sizes in October Insurance is only replacing the wheels |
Unicorn style! https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/i...NgvqGTMlJBTN9y |
Advan's to be a baller... Like what I have in sig/pic below.. VVVV |

And you decide how much offset you want, do some research, depends how flush with the fender you want the wheel to sit. Google wheel offset calculator and play around. |
I just want the offset that will require the least modification to avoid rubbing |
If that's the case then I think you'd need something 8" wide with at least a +45, more so if you're gonna run stock width tires. FWIW though, Milligrams are sexy (I have them in gold). Here's a CWP with black Milligrams. http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...ook-evo-62638/ |
why bother getting a 8.5" wide as mentioned if you're only running 215's? |
1 Attachment(s) @Nitr0EngiE; I just put a set of 18x8.5 +35 Gold Konig milligrams on last night. If you go with a 8.5 and +45 you WILL NOT CLEAR YOUR STRUT! Thus the reason I had to go +35. My wheels are very flush to the fenders and all I have a decent roll front and rear. I'm running V12's 245/40 |

I'm dropped on yellow speed coilovers They are replacing 1 tire and 3 rims depending on the allowance I'll try too get 4 wheels and new tires 235's |

NOTE: Even when I was on Evo X wheels 18x8.5 +38 I literally had about 2mm of clearance with stock struts Quote:

Ok I need to find out how much they are going to pay toward the repairs and go from there. My idea was to get big wheels to take advantage now and get big tire later and keep my 215s. I'm showing oem wheels are 444 each and I need 3 maybe for 1200 I can get good aftermarket wheels and maybe even tires too |

And you can also step down to 17s for cheaper tires/wheels. |

I was looking at 17x9 +45 with 10mm spacers Enkei Rpf1's with 255's and I was looking at 1350 shipped for wheels and some serious meats for tires |

When I curbed my Civic, the insurance company pro-rated my tires in the loss as well. If the damage was substantial enough to bend 3 of 4 wheels, you have a strong case for saying those tires are also unsafe for re-use. I would challenge that decision and be sure to note you're going to hold them liable for any catastrophic accidents. Tell them Paul Walker sent you. |
All the tires barely had 2k miles on them |

"That kind of damage to belts and cords typically results from a high-speed impact with debris or a pothole. The impact often weakens, stretches or breaks the tire's cords and belts, according to Keith Baumgardner, general manager of Tire Consultants Inc. of Georgia. An obstacle the size of a 4-by-4 piece of lumber on the roadway is a definite risk, he says. Striking such an object can cause the steel belts to snap or stretch in an X-shaped pattern, Baumgardner said. It can also break the adhesion of the steel belts to the surrounding rubber. Then, hundreds or even thousands of miles later, the tire could blow out." Get 3 new shoes out of them. The fact they're at 2k miles just means they'll have to give you closer to full value when they are pro-rated. |
That's all I was saying is they need to offer full value |

So what you've seen people get "pole-axed"? You wanna jump on the bandwagon and do the same shit huh? You picked the wrong thread. |
Had anyone heard of WEDS wheels I think they are only giving me 600 for the damaged wheels |
WEDS has been around since the 70's I believe. |
If you can get a set get some 18x8 cr-kai's good wheels if you get them cheap enough or hell even MB Battles aren't half bad of a choice, its around ~$650 for a set of 18x8 which will fit your 215's with a minor stretch but nothing serious. |
1 Attachment(s) Pulled the trigger on a set of motegi black mr125 18x8 +45 688 shipped with aluminum centric rings I attached a picture Thanks to everyone who helped me figure this out. I got a pair of 5mm spacers if needed for strut clearance These wheels are 20.6 lbs the lightest I have seen is 19 on koni milligrams |
1 Attachment(s) Nice wheel choice! I was thinking about getting a set of those before I got the ones in my sig. I think you'll be fine running 215's on them too. I've had 215's on mine for almost 5 months now and all is well. They're stretched but only a tad and it doesn't look stupid at all. Of course I'd rather have some 245's but like you my tires were pretty much brand new and I don't have money to get new tires to replace my new tires lol. Here's the best pic I have that shows how they fit on the wheel. |

That's cool the OG wants to be herra frush, but I ain't gargling anyone's e-sack no matter how much money they gave to a website. This subject has been beaten to death. I'm riding on CCWs, how about you? |
Idiot. Nitro has been here since nearly the beginning. He's not "hella flush." He's trying to save money. |

We have had several members here run 235/40/18 +50 on KW struts - no rubbing. 245's will generally require a minimum of +40. http://carphotos4.cardomain.com/imag..._large.jpg?v=0 |
