New WHEELS/SHOES ordered!

hopefully it fits with rolled fenders
enkei rp-f1 17x9
toyo r1r 235/40/17
The toyo r1rs run really wide, so its like a 245, so ive been told.

Hopefully the front doesnt give me any rubbing issues or im out 2k lol

javanc 06-30-2008 05:05 PM

Whats the offset on those wheels? I found that size but with 35 mm offset. Thats a pretty beefy 9 inches. GL and cant wait to see some pics.

Derek88 06-30-2008 05:12 PM

Geez, now I have to go to google and search in order to see some pics. ugh...

I hope they fit too, and look good... good luck

holy shit i think thats gonna be the widest rims onn a ms3 so far

MidwestSpeed3 06-30-2008 06:31 PM

Holy crap, I thought 8.5 inches was wide. Also, how come only 235s? I figured with Cobb running 255 on 8.5 wide wheels, you would at least match them....lol

Either way, can't wait for pics. I love those wheels. Color?

Laloosh 06-30-2008 08:46 PM

like i said a toyo r1r 235 runs WIDE. The thread diamater is almost 9 inches if remember correctly. The offset on them is 45. I dunno, it might be close without rolling the rears, but once i roll them i shouldnt have a problem.

color is silver

Haltech 06-30-2008 08:54 PM

If you could of got your wheels in 50-52mm offset i wouldnt be worried. Im not convinced the 45 offset will help you much with your fender. Your front will be ok.. Its the rear you are going to fear.

Laloosh 06-30-2008 09:00 PM

i guess well find out soon, ill be pissed if it doesnt work. The way i see it:

Stock radius is 25.6
New radius is 24.4 thus giving me .6 extra clearance to work with. Im dropped on cobb springs and for the rear they dont drop the car at all. im currectly running a 18x7.5 45 with the stock tire and its not even close.

Haltech 06-30-2008 10:03 PM

Well that was a ballsy move, so hats off to you if it works man.

Im going 245s on 18's. If fucking Cobb can stuff 18X8.5 @ 52+mm with 255's, there is no reason i cant stuff 245s under this motherfucker.

I've wondered how they did it.

so did i, thats why i twisted Christan and Josh's arm.

ispypsi 07-01-2008 05:15 PM

always loved rpf1's. some people hate them because the design where the lip meets the spoke makes the wheel look smaller than it's actual diameter, but they look classic and are very light. i like them in the polished/metalcoat buff version the best :D

good luck on the wide contact patch goodies. im sure it will look burly, esp with your stance.

MazdaMan13 07-01-2008 09:42 PM

haltech we need a "this thread is worthless without pics" smiley lol

Their 245s are on their 18x8 +48 ProDrive GC05's I believe...I plan on going 245s also.

In the same thread that they posted that they did it, the said further down that they had to roll the fenders a little.

They run two sets of wheels on their car. the prodrives that you mention. And the 18x8.5 +52mm volk re30s.

Young Roids 07-02-2008 09:54 PM

And Laloosh I fear that you may have pressed the boundrys too far with a 9 inch rim at that offset. I hope it works for you though.

AndrewCote 07-02-2008 10:01 PM

i just installed those on my friends si and i love em. the handling is greatly improved over stock
