Default Noise after installing TSW Nurburgring rims

Last night I installed my brand new TSW Nurburgrings 18 x 7.5 and on the way to work today I noticed around some turns there is a metal like banging noise. Hard to describe. It wasnt there on stock rims. What could be causing this?

What offset did you get? What size tires?

Did you check for clearance after putting them on?

Are you lowered at all?

45 is the offset.

I don't know a ton about clearance on the 6, but at that offset and tire size, I don't think you should be rubbing.

could it be the bearing??? I know it would be kind of coincidence, seeing as how the new rims went on, but when they go out, you hear a clunk. @Douggievee; does it increase with speed? if you turn the wheel is it worse one way or the other? Do you hear it when stationary?

its very intermittant. seems like the noise only happens when taking a turn very quickly and seems to sound like its coming from the rear of the car.

does it matter which way you turn? how fast are you going? Again, do you hear the "rubbing" when stationary?

Is the hub bore on the wheels the same as on our cars? If not, then you need hubcentric rings, the wheels may not be centered and causing some noise.

^^Beat me to it.
Yea check that. The lugs don't always center the wheel perfectly so your wheels could be shifting slightly as they rotate.

EDIT: I checked the interwebs and these wheels have a 72mm hub bore which is about 4.9mm oversized.

I have rings which ive never used before but they are little plastic rings that i sat in the middle of the wheel before putting them on. hopefully i did that right, not really sure how else they could have been put on though. and when stationary I havenet heard any noise. i would say the noise comes when making a turn going about 40 mph or so.

If you haven't already, remove the wheel where you think the sound is coming from. See if you are getting any points of rub on the wheel. Worth a check.

No these are punched out to the standard 73.1mm. They need adapters and/or the lugs need to be set on correctly.

definately leaning towards the hubcentric issue then, and not so much the bearing. the bearing you would hear all the time, increasing with speed. Hopefully dale will chime in, but looks like @pirate steve; has your answer. Do you have the boxes the rims came in still? Or an invoice. Should say it somewhere on there

EDIT: He chimed in. There ya go.

You use them just like that. The question is if they are the right size. The Mazda hub is a 67mm.

If those "little plastic rings" aren't correctly sized for the gap between the wheel and your hub you could have sandwiched the plastic between the hub and wheel.
Take the wheels off and check that the ring fits snuggly around the hub.

The rings dont fit around the hub of the car, they sit inside the rim and i thought maybe they just sit on top of the hub but the rings dont fit inside the hub circle or around the hub circle, they just match the diameter of the hub circle.
