Roszko 10-01-2011 09:17 PM

Nothing new with the suspension/wheels, but I recently installed CNT Catless TBE, PTP CDFP Internals and a TIP. Then topped it all off with a badass street tune by SSP in Houston. I went for a drive today with my friend Branko and his Evo X. Here's some shots I took...

We didn't race, but he'd win. AWD + 26psi + double clutch + fully bolted + tune = Winner.
We drove pretty damn fast and he said he was like 80-90% throttle keeping up with me, so it would be pretty close, but definitely not off a line. I'll race him next time. Today was more like a, "Let's go drive fast and go WEEEEEEEEEE" kinda day

@Roszko

What is your wheel width/offset if you don't mind me asking. Also, do you know what your camber specifications are?

Thanks,

Josh

I don't know my camber specs, no arms/links or anything. I'll check my next alignment

No drone, I love it. Sounds exactly what I was looking for. I have a video on youtube...

wow youre like the first person to post a legit exhaust video. sounds mean! sound like mine with stock dp, race pipe, and first two resonators removed.

For the guys with 8.5 and 9.5 wide 18s how much room is there inside the arch?

Say running about et40? I dont want to poke much just want to sit flush. Am tempted by the 9.5" wide rims as they look concave and badass. But thinking 8.5 will be easier for me to pull off.

Pretty sure 9.5 +40 won't fit because the inside of the rim would hit the strut. Don't quote me on that, but from what I understand, it'd hit...

But idk how much room is inside the arch, there's room enough to drive, we can all roll haha. It's hard to gauge. Get the appropriate suspension/links/arms/plates/tire sizes and you can pretty much fit anything in there. I'm sure the info you're looking for is somewhere on this forum, people have asked similar questions a few times.

for 9.5 (with bc coilovers) i have to run at most 35et because the front will rub the shock housing if more. I have 38 and run a 3mm spacer up front. not sure about clearance in the rear. what do you mean inside the arch? you mean the tire rubbing on the top of the wheel well? i know the fronts people have to hammer down a metal piece under the plastic fender. i like the look of the exoX wheels spaced out to sit flush. 8.5 wide i believe.

Will 17x8.25 et35 on 235/45/17s fit with stock suspension/soon to be eibach pro kit and SenSen shocks?

I have been doing a lot of measurements to see if I can stuff a 8.5" wheel under there. The issue is that the strut locking ring on most mainstream coilovers (including mine) interferes with inside sidewall clearance. The lower you go, the closer the sidewall/lip is to the locking ring. I am dropped an inch and will barely clear on a 235/40/18 tire @ +45. And I'll have to massage the rear fender pretty good too.

Personally I'd stay away from a 9.5" width unless you're OK with running a narrow tire outside the manufacturer's recommendations (refer to post #705).

EDIT: Obviously I'm more of a practical guy but can appreciate many of the setups in here. Thanks for the thread.
