hahaha I think he was just fucking around. This is the sickest, most dope fitment I've seen on an MS3 yet. Its some dude on M3F (Dazed&Confused I think): Rota Grid's 18x9.5 +38 w/ 235/40 tires http://i40.tinypic.com/2hwzn2w.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/a3ffwz.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/o5amgx.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com/vyuv68.jpg I WILL be rocking this setup one day! |
MY god that CWP is SICK!! |
^^perfect fitment...just a liiitle lower if it were my car. |
those grids or p45rs? |
ms3 wheels 2 Attachment(s) Motegi sp10 18x8 40mm Et, Im running 225/40s right now with slight drifter strech but the 8" wheels would take 235/40s just perfect and there pretty agressive right now, so much that I have been holding off on my H&R sport springs cause I don't know if these will work even with fenders rolled. |
Those wheels are nice. Wouldn't look bad with a small drop and some rolled fenders though ;) stock dampers suck, so you should replace those when you put the springs in. seriously, they suck. Quote:
P45R http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/pro...oducts_id=5611 Grid http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/pro...oducts_id=5742 yo man, did you ever put up pics of the stock wheels with spacers? |
no i dont have any. :( not sure where they went. im trying to get a new set of spacers so i can go back to stockers though. |
Would I be able to get away without rubbing on 18x8.5 +48 rota g-force wheels with 225/45/18 yoko advan neovas on my speed6? I am dropped 1.4" with h&r sports and fenders aren't rolled. |

I just picked these up last night. EVO X 18x8.5 +38 I'm not sure they're going to be too aggressive, but I will need to roll the fenders http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/v...00412-2344.jpg |
On the 6 they looks nice...That is MY opinion. Never seen em on a 3. +38 should be a good fit. Quote:

Rolled fenders??? will I have any fittment problems going down 1.3" in the front and 1.2" in the rear I have H&R sport springs but I wan't to make sure I won't run into any problems lowering. I know you guys are running much wider rims with lower offsetts but my 18x8 40Et are pretty flush I'm thinking at this point I will have to roll the rears??? I have 225/40s tires now but I want to go with 235/40s on my next set. |
That's awesome his picture made it here. Way to go Kev! He's local to me and a really cool guy. Quote:

hey what would be the best coilover and camber kit to go with to acheive the look of the white3 with the concave rotas? |
bc are good if u want a set let me know |
Doesn't really matter zoom. I say go with H&R if you have the funds. BC if you don't. But BC's won't go as low as H&R's. I plan on fixing this problem in a week or two. |
Quote:
I should, hopefully, get them back from the powder coater later this week. |
how about camber kit? would i even need one? |
|
^^^ front staggered? |
Yes. Who wants some SSR Comp-H? 17x9.5 +35 BNIB. |

those grid's are so hot on that car. except i dont really want to run my 225's on those, too much stretch for me. i might get the matte black, would look so hot on SS |

as much as theres work into it.... I personally think this is the wrong car for that look... theres aggressive... .. and then theres that... not only a fail in the setup... but a fail in the rims. |
What work? Stretched tires and stupid-wide wheels that throw every angle of the suspension off to make it look like a VW. lame. .02 |
Luckily everyone has their own car to fit their own tastes. I think the "scene" would be boring if everyone had black rims with red/chrome lips and a 1/2" drop. I used to think sumthaiguy's style was retarded and "vato" until I started hanging around my friends with slammed 240s and other drifters and I found the appeal after a while. There's plenty of people who appreciate this stuff, they're just part of a different scene and/or own different types of cars. It's cool to see someone applying that kind of style to an MS3, I think it's respectable |
Look bottom line is, ether u like it or u don’t. as for most of the Mazda community is still stuck on the olden day, were all u needed was a nice set of wheel, didn’t care about offset or camber. This is the new look, this is the new scene, and the reality is that the Mazda community is still stuck in the pass. We are the once that are pushing the limit, the once with the "crazy offset and stupid fitments" are the once that are making the Mazda scene be notice by others , we are the once with the BALL's to do it not u . so don’t hate appreciate accept accepted the fact that the only reason people are starting to like ms3 is because crazy ass fool’s like us. |
i will post pics in here when i get legit ones. here are some phone pics of my 18x9.5 grids. http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...a-grids-56119/ |
looks good bro. im in the process of getting new 18x8.5 wheels just debating if i want to go aggressive offset or not. |
DOOOOOOOOOOO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Dude, they look amazing. Can't wait to see it dropped That's the exact setup I'm going for, these pictures just confirm my decision. I plan on going a lot lower though |

Rota Grids Hyper Black 18x9.5 +38 not sure what tires yet, probably Yokohama S Drives BCs are in the mail, and I'm just going to have to play with the height. I want to go as low as I comfortably can. It's going to be a few months before I get the Grids, need more money I was also thinking about powdercoating them white, since that's what I originally wanted, I'm just having a hard time finding white Grids in this size. But hyperblack looks dope, so I'm going to rock them before making any decisions on painting them Edit! Ordered the Grids and tires. Will be riding hard in about 2 weeks |
ya the grids look sick, i think the only white ones they make are in a hella low offset like 12 or 20. id check with wheeldude to see when they will be having any color in stock because when i got mine i got the last hyper black and then they had one set of matte bronze. so maybe you could put a downpayment on them before they come in or else you might have to wait an extra few months after u get your money together. |
Yeah, I'll do that, it's totally worth it. I don't want to miss out on them. But sick set up man, keep us posted if/when you drop it. Park in the street if you have to :P |
i debated slamming it and parking in the street but people in hawaii are sketchy and theivin!!! ill take my tonka truck look over parking in the street haha. 4 car garage FTW. |

^^DENM that suck!!!! |
After viewing this thread and seeing that CWP with the grids and all the other sick ass offsets I think I'm gonna dump my highway racer plans for the clean look |
I made a connection. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_bSRmC5GGYu...da+Speed+3.jpg This has been my favorite MS3 for the past year or so Then I saw the CPW in this thread, and it became my new favorite MS3. Ever. But they're the same car. Same plates. This guy has some f:cool:ckin style http://i41.tinypic.com/a3ffwz.jpg Anyways... |
funny how he chose to relocate his license plate right over his FMIC. |
@romeox929 Didn't you get the memo? Form > function, that's why we stretch tires to the point where they might blow off the rim and throw our scrub radius so far off the charts that besides increasing steering effort, ridiculous bump-steer and a turning radius akin to a 1970's Cadillac, we're not worried about the thought of snapping a ball joint in half. I mean, it still looks sexy, right? :) |
got 2 new picx for u guys http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/9549/3g2.png http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/4369/3gs.png |
^^ so fresh! I want those rims but in silver. Can I ask where you got em from? |
|
OH that rear camber gives me a woody. |

I have another thread, http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...-wheels-56166/, but I'll post here too. EVO X GSR wheels. 18 x 8.5 +38 Yokohama Advan A13c 245/40-18 Stock height and the rear fenders are rolled, yet I still rub on hard bumps. FML! I need to eliminate the rub. Stock shocks have hardly any compression dampening. http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/v...3/DSC03812.jpg http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/v...3/DSC03813.jpg http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/v...3/DSC03825.jpg http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/v...3/DSC03815.jpg http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/v...3/DSC03817.jpg http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/v...3/DSC03818.jpg http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/v...3/DSC03820.jpg http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/v...3/DSC03823.jpg http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/v...3/DSC03824.jpg |
