I'm going to be running some 18x8.5 +35 offset, but I'm not totally sure on what kind if tire to run. I was thinking a 225/40/18 buying want the little bit of finger gap in the rear to be filled up so maybe 225/45/18's? The rear are rolled some, after running 18x7.5 with 225/40/18s.

18x8 +35 215/45's. Needed a roll in the back, stock height

edit: I'll post the original, that one is pretty dark

my rear is that exact width and offset with 235s. dont run 225/45s for crying out loud. i feel like i just should post this on repeat.
1.) roll fenders flat
2.) slightly pull fenders
3.) trim rear bumper tab

chewed up wheel edge much? and get some bigger rubber than 215. and go low. then maybe, just maybe you would qualify for aggressive.

Bought them for cheap and will refinish in summer, but thanks for noticing. And no thanks, not going lower as I already nearly scrape going up my driveway. Not going to sacrifice practicality

So 235/40's, I sit pretty low. How about the front?

let me correct myself from my earlier post. front is 8.5 with a +35 and 235s and rear is +33 with 235s. that doesnt negate the fact that youll need everything mentioned before to fit them. the fronts will be fine, no modification needed.

By just fine do you mean has no traction and is prone to sliding? Because in that case you are correct. -9 degrees is retarded.

madspd6 04-01-2013 08:54 PM

@madspd6; Specs on wheels?

madspd6 04-02-2013 05:52 AM

18x9 +35
When I bought them I thought it was a little much but I like em.

What size tires?

madspd6 04-02-2013 07:08 AM

They are 235/40 neuton nt5000's. They have made it through 1.5 summers already and they look like they have another 2 left in then. They are an eco+ tire and pretty hard. Not the best handeling or grippy tire but for DD purpouses and only costing me 400$ for a set! I really can't complain.

Do it! I should have gotten that size because now I rub like a mofo in the rears with a roll and small pull.

dastpe 04-07-2013 10:19 AM

7th Initial 04-08-2013 05:40 AM

MPS_Mike 04-08-2013 10:20 AM

Hey Madvillain I am looking to do a very similar set up to my MS3 is there anyway you can tell me the size of the stuff you're running it would help guide me a million times better. There is so much information out here and ive narrowed it down. i want a fitment just like that!
Thank you for your time.

Rokusek 04-08-2013 12:52 PM

I really want to see someone fit something like these on a speed for daily but with street tires...

Diamond Racing makes wheels like that, but I don't think they make anything large than 16"...

Home

Tomas 04-08-2013 01:28 PM

^ That is correct. They don't.
16"s apparently clear the stock front calipers on the circumference. Not sure they would horizontally if they were made like above pic however.

Rokusek 04-08-2013 01:35 PM

@doubleflusher; fit 16's with no problems last year, and i think he was even able to fit a 15 as well... I have always loved the way that looks on car, esecially seeing them on miatas.

I wanna see someone do that for a daily and pull it off... or maybe even just for track use i think would be sick. I just dont have the balls to spend the money on that kind of set up.

doubleflusher 04-08-2013 01:51 PM

16's fit without issue.

15's fit with spacers and a little caliper shaving.

I removed the back part of my fender liner and flattened the seam in the wheel well. No more rub!
