those orange ones on the ms6 are 19s |
Yeah i forgot RB's were 19s. I found the thread I was looking for. :) |

jesus, can we please make a distinction between the rice shit and the nice agressive stuff? it seems like these two threads are the same shit now... |
I thought this thread was about aggressive offset rims, not the cars they were on? |
|
looks aggressive to me |
lol. ok im done here |
It's aggressive like the cancer in steve jobs' body. |
Obviously not an MS3, but Speed3eak is right, I don't think this thread is only about our cars, good to spice it up a bit with other makes. So, without further adieu: this SOB is fucking baaaaaaaaaaad. Anyone who follows or participates in the "stance movement" will most likely appreciate this car and the work that has gone into it. I doubt an MS3 could seriously pull this look off, but damn it looks right at home on this mk5 R32 http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4092/...0097a32e_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4103/...13a7b4ed_b.jpg http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/4707/10844521.jpg http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/369/75931188.jpg More here: Japanese Euro Scene? | Stance:Nation - Form > Function |

If you're going to fuck up your car by adding all sorts of stupid camber, you might as well buy a regular ass golf or mazda 3. You're killing your performance by doing that shit. It's illogical and stupid. |
ugh |
but, the most important thing to consider is my MS3 is mine haha, so think what you want. I'll do something different, you can stay within the confines of this conservative MS3 community. Why do you care? Don't worry about it man, it's allllll good |
Quote:
I just hate seeing perfectly good cars go to waste. Nothing more. |
Quote:
It seems like the MS3 community is so irrationally scared of change and this "aggressive" look. People are going to do it. Some people hate it, some respect it, some live for it. Some live for highway racing and hitting 30psi and 10sec. Some do all of these things, all deserve respect. You own an MS3, therefore I already consider your car cool and respectable haha, stock or fully bolted, it doesn't matter. I like everything about the MZR platform. I have mods and will hopefully soon be stage 2, so my car isn't just a pretty face (sarcasm). Everyone is different, I don't know how many times people have to explain that fact - "it's MY car, MY rules". The argument should end there. All I ask is that you guys who think this stuff is dumb, just be open-minded and not so critical. Sometimes I think you guys just want something to hate, bOoStInG your egos to 30psi before your cars. /worldpeace |
Quote:
I hate things that serve no purpose on the car and actually make the car run worse than it did before. I could make my TV so that it only displayed the red and green colors, but no one would consider that cool because it doesn't serve any purpose. It also makes the TV worse than it was before at the thing it was supposed to be doing originally. That's my reason for hating the "agressive stance". It's not because it's different. It's not because it's a change from the norm. It's because it makes your car worse at being a car. |

Art doesn't have a useful, rational purpose. Regardless, people paint, draw, sculpt, and spend millions purchasing them because it means something to them. Is it worthless? Do you think people should stop producing art? It doesn't serve any purpose except as an expression of the creator. Just because something isn't useful and "practical" doesn't mean it's useless and worthless. It's all subjective. I enjoy these things, I enjoy making my car mine. It's an expression of who I am, as your car is of you. NOT trying to suck up, but here's an example of respect: Your car must be a beast, fuck, I just read your sig  (we disagree on something, but look, A COMPLIMENT! shockR) |
Ok I love aggressive wheel look and this thread needs to say with speeds Start a new thread if your gunna post other models...I don't wanna search through other pics to find a aggressive ms3 haha My opinion, its a good 1 haha |
Quote:
just because you have some extra risks doesnt mean you still cant have some function IF you want too. its not a waste of a car, its making atleast the driver happy and if its stance oriented, usually that whole community. |
I guarantee you that Z handles like shit. |
Hella flush z = poop |
That z looks pretty good. I think he should of did a slightly smaller rim though. |
maybe im lost here, i tought aggressive offset's are to improve the cars performance. not kill it.... |
Any modification to any car could be viewed as pointless, useless, detrimental to the cars overall function to do what it was built to do, etc. Some people want to break power thresholds, some people want to get as low as possible. Some people want to have a balance of both stance and power (function&form) And some people wouldn't think of tainting a perfect piece of machinery with any modification whatsoever. It's all about YOUR personal preference and vision for what YOU want out of YOUR car. That being said, here are some great looking Speed3's: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1264/...503206e8_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4145/...1b381be4_b.jpg Not for everyone: http://omgpancakes.files.wordpress.c...pg?w=640&h=428 |
And some Speed3/Speed6 content as well: Edit: Sorry, repost. Every pic I originally posted is on page 10 haha. |
Quote:
if so, where did you get those window visors? they're really fucking nice and nice car btw |
Quote:
I have a pretty aggressive stance on my car, but it's 100% for performance. I appreciate the compliment, and I do like the way some of these speeds look. I like the way that yours looks, to be honest. From what I can see, you don't have ridiculous amounts of camber so you can fit huge wheels and tires under the fender. Quote:
Quote:
If you wanna argue that it's an expression of individuality, that's a more valid argument. You'll never sell me or anyone who knows anything about cars the BS that you can have awesome performance with negative camber, wheels that are too big, and tires that are stretched. It's physics. You can't fuck with the laws of physics. |
Quote:
And you're right, you can't phuck with physics. My car isn't exactly suited to be tossed around haha. I'd like to get another car for that though, like a Miata(NB!!!), something RWD and tossable. My friend has a caged, fully bolted, Hennessey tuned NB Miata. He's friends with John Hennessey, they helped him build it at their shop. I'll see if I can get some pictures. Anyways, after driving that shit, spinning tires going 80, I have to own one of those before I die. A bit off topic, but fuuuuuuuuuuuu. Quote:
LET'S GET BACK TO LOOKING AT SOME BADASS MS3'S! |
^ That's the one issue I had with the car; that there was a little too much poke. Glad I'm not the only one who thought so! Looks great |
Quote:
Visors are sick. The only ones I've liked on an MS3 so far |
Yeah, those photos I posted were a joke because I personally don't like the hellaflush stretched rim + insane camber look. I've heard it argued (on top gear actually) that a car can never be art, because art cannot have a purpose other than itself. I don't like the look but I also have the same sense of visual aesthetics as stevie wonder. That being said, I think some of the most beautiful cars are also some of the most functional. I originally wanted to say this quote was from frank lloyd wright, but after doing a quick search what he said was different, so I'll just say I heard this somewhere: "Form should not only follow function; it should enhance it" But I'll stop posting in this thread, it's not about form > function or function > form, it's about aggressive offset rims and I apologize for derailing it just because I'm personally not a fan. |

It's about time for a new fad. Lemme give you some direction: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5051/...e7712e35_z.jpg Would look dope on that C5  |
^ LOL |
That white MS3 with the chrome wheels is ugly. Also, unless it's bagged, a dumped MS3 is stupid regardless of it's looks simply because of the complete lack of suspension travel as-is, let alone ride quality/performance losses from super lo-pro tires. Anyways, the only reasons "stance," took off is because a bunch of cheap kids wanted to stick shit on their cars that didn't belong without actually modifying anything. Then it's like "Well my rims are xxx.x wide, so what'chu know about that?" That said, here's what I consider sexy in spite of a lack of function: http://i929.photobucket.com/albums/a...blic/bmw1h.jpg http://www.stanceiseverything.com/wp.../06/previa.jpg Some function: http://www.stanceiseverything.com/wp.../06/safari.jpg http://www.roybriziostreetrods.com/p...33_std_std.jpg Sex: http://www.iputinwork.com/wp-content...rkai_mhg_l.jpghttp://i929.photobucket.com/albums/a...s13front-1.jpg http://i929.photobucket.com/albums/a.../dsc00232x.jpg http://www.iputinwork.com/wp-content...d9_wht_800.jpg |
I definitely can agree with you, Mizzle. There aren't really any extensive builds anymore, it's just wheels and suspension. Plus, the occasional fender roll. But that doesn't represent everybody. In the defense of the "stance" crowd, there are some people that put a fair amount of work into being as low as possible without bags. Obviously that compromises performance, but getting a frame notch so you can get lower and not smack axle is pretty extensive if you ask me. Dialing in proper settings for minimal rubbing and getting the right amount of camber to get the rear as low as possible is a fair amount of work too. All things considered, there are a lot of factors in dumping your car on coilovers (or air for that matter. air just makes it a bit easier after it's installed) Sorry for the rant, this is just the kind of stuff I'm used to seeing on VW forums and I tend to get a good view of the work put into the "slammed" cars whether they're on air or coilovers. BTW I fucking love that S2K. And the E36 above it. |
It would take a lot of work to make a Yugo a high performance, reliable vehicle. Doesn't mean you should or that it's impressive if you do... *resumes masturbating to the red S2000* |

bumper stickers and hood stickers suck... love the car. |
Quote:
At the same time, I would appreciate the amount of work they put into it in order to make it into a respectable vehicle. Regardless, making a car stupid low on wheels that don't fit is less pointless (wait, hear me out) since there isn't a car that you can buy that comes like that from factory. On the other hand, there are lots of alternatives to buying a Yugo. |
Bumpers stickers are covering cracks and damage to the bumper. But I agree, could've picked something not so blatantly ugly. Whatever though, sick car |
I think that black speed3 with teal wheels is sexy. I hate all those retarded stickers though. |
I'd be interested to know the specs. Anyone know his setup? |
It's stock EVOX wheels. I think he spaced it out some a little. On BC, I think. |
Stock EVO X's on KW v.2 i believe |
Quote:
not sure about the tires though maybe 225/235? theres minimal stretch if any so thats my guess |
Since I couldn't find anymore 3's or 6's http://ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagam...298%20copy.jpg http://nw-built.com/wp-content/uploa...final-copy.jpg http://www.roadsterdrift.com/home/wp...a53e459b_b.jpg Edit: Not sure if this one has been posted already, but I found a 3 http://s3.amazonaws.com/flushasfuck/...jpg?1295568696 And a 6: http://s3.amazonaws.com/flushasfuck/...jpg?1294056136 |
Hatchie with the TEAL wheels i think were 225/40 on evo x wheels. Yeah bumper stickers hiding cracks. Helper springs removes in the front. Custom KW springs for rear. I think most power mods came off. But plans to put some back on. One of the first peeps i remember with EVO x wheels. but wanted to try somethin custom color no one else was using, PLus makes car stand out. |

Looking at 17x7.5 et42 wheels...I will be running 225/45 tires. Will I need to roll my fenders with stock suspension? |
Quote:

They have an offset of 42 |

Quote:
why the 17s? |
I like the look and the tires are $30/ea cheaper than 18's and the wheels I want only come in a 17s. I thought they would be close to rubbing due to the 225s and the 42 offset when I go with springs. I know they will be pretty flush. I have FD wheels (16x8 et50) on now. |

Do 17x8, et38 require fender rolling with a 225/50 or 235/45? |

You need to roll, especially when you have passengers... it's gonna rub for sure. |

when aggresive offset can be used without -10 degrees of camber it looks sooo good... case and point the red s2k(i might be a bit partial to the s2k's though) |

They will rub, only when you corner hard and have passengers going over bumps on freeway. Even rubbed with 225/45. 225/50 & 235/45 are both taller. |

I've got 18x8.5 245/45s +38 offset in the front, and I don't rub at all |
In the back only. No rubbing in front, full lock would touch, though. |
What's up ya'all. I'm trying to do some homework before buying some new shoes for my 06 speed 6. Does anyone know if 19x9 +35 offset wheels will fit on my ride? Any help or input would be awesome. Tires 245/35. |
