hey guys ill be running 285/30/18 mps2 on my wedsports pretty soon the car has been at the body shop since june and i should have her back in a week or two, did alot of custom fender work but it looks clean and sexy, the rims are 18x10 they dont poke out quite the way i was hoping for but when i get it back and ready to drive i will consider some spacers to get that clean poke, when i finally put down big power after my monster build next winter ill have the rubber to hold it down! tell me what you think about these they should weigh about 46 lbs each which is just about stock weight, but with way more rubber! |
Not sure if you guys consider this an aggressive fitment, but its pretty aggressive in my standards. Wheels are 18x9 +38 and tires: 245 40. Running stock suspension, no plans on upgrading so far. Slight rubbing issues up front, but nothing a slight fender roll can't fix. http://i.imgur.com/nuQzQtCl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/KCTveA1l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/3sJHzwK.jpg |

so do i man, this has been in the body shop since june and i waited a whole year before that to find someone to do it for me... about a week and i get to drive her for the first time in like 2 years, hands out the sunroof steering with my raging car love boner |

I expect this car to have 500+ whp otherwise the wide body and 285's are useless imo |
im doing everything backwards, it should have like 300 to 325 who but not enough to need the tires i know...YET and its not a kit he just pulled the existing fender all custom the pictures really dont give the true sense of how it looks especially those |
I searched everything and found nothing. does anybody have or no what to expect when running a 18x9 +30 wheel on 225/40 tire. I have seen 18x9.5 and multiple 18x9 wheels but with all different offset. I have my rears rolled and I'm basically all the way down on bc coils in my pu... Any guidance would be great! . Oh and I am at -1.5ish camber in rear. Hopings this will be enough. Not sure if spacers or anything is needed. (I checked "will it fit" thread too) Thanks a lot guys |
@madspd6; is running 18x9 35 offset w 235/40/18 I believe. Perhaps he can show you a pic. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk |
not sure if that was directed at me but that is a ms6. plus the offset change and 235 tire changes a lot. really appreciate ya trying to help though! |

So you're looking at 18x9 30 offset on a 225/40/18 tire. Yes the rim will poke 5mm more than @madspd6;'s but your the top outer corner of your tire (where the fenders will rub) will move inwards and slightly down to compensate for stretch and tire height. So this can be a close comparison. http://willtheyfit.com/index.php?wid...et2=30#content In the link I have entered the specs and you can see the top edge of the sidewall doesn't move at all. Also the tire will sit 4 mm lower relative to the fender. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk |
did some searching but didn't come up with much on the topic, Just picked up a set of 18x9 +38 wheels, concerned with the clearance from inner wheel to the strut body. I have a little less than half an inch, what do you guys with an aggressive setups consider "too close for comfort" (don't take this post as a "will they fit" question since I know they will, just curious what kind of clearance you have on the inside wheel to strut body) |
Still waiting for the day someone runs 18x10 on a 6. Le sigh |

It seems you are correct, 19x10 +45 with a 5mm spacer in the rear and a 3mm spacer in the front. Tires are 235/35/19. It's pretty crazy that he is on rpm springs! Quote:

lol its coming in less than a week!!!!!!!!!!! i cant wait to pull it out of the shop after not having it for 2 years and thenjust get toned by a mac truck, but i will have died happy :) |
@Mazdazilla6; tbh I thought there would be more camber involved in running a x10 wheel. Makes me thinking about getting some 18x9 ccw lm20s ^_^ Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk 2 |

The only thing that I'm not horribly fond of is having to stretch tires but a 225 on a 9in rim isn't bad at all seeing that 225mm is 8.9in. 235 on a 10 would make me extra uber cautious of what is on/in the road and I sure wouldn't touch a track with that set up but for casual daily driving I think it's fine. |
BTW @Mazdazilla6; post pics of your rpf1s in here GO GO GO! |
They're puny and not aggressive at all lol. I have a few pics posted in one of the picture threads. Here http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...b-rpf1-161428/ |

What do you guys think, 17x9.5 +38 or 18x9.5 +38 RPF1's either one il be running 245/35 tires. My goal is a nice meaty low flush look. After looking at some others with the 18s I'm leaning towards the 17s because il sit low/ more how id like to sit rather then be 4x4 status with the 18s. Opions? Heres 18x9.5 245/35/18. https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...65045232_n.jpg https://scontent-a-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/...23207821_n.jpg These are only 17x9s 255/40/17 but it gives you an idea http://www.laleetsgarage.com/pics/ph...P2012_0005.JPG http://www.laleetsgarage.com/pics/ph...P2012_0008.JPG |
