As for caps, I ordered the silver ones that they make for the SA60M, but they sent the CF black ones to me on accident, yet they ended up fitting anyways. These are not advertised to work on the SA60M, so I got lucky :). I wanted these from the jump.

Mind telling me how much the caps cost? They are kind of ridiculous up here in the North.

I ordered mine at the same time I ordered the wheels. It was over $100 I believe.

I'm running 225/40 nitto neo gens. I honestly do not see how anything any wider would fit without rubbing an already rolled fender on this size wheel and offset.

Ti_grey_rx8 06-02-2014 05:32 PM

Another RPF-01 setup.
Fronts are 17x9.5 +38. Had to run a 3mm spacer to clear the strut. Rears are 17x9 +45. Tires are 255/40/17. Fronts: Falken Azenis. Rears: Federal RSR's
ISC street/sport coilovers with max camber upfront. SPC camber arms almost maxed out. Rear fenders are rolled flat and the bumper tabs are ground down slightly. I still need an alignment but I barely scrape the fenders front and rear. I will be raising the car before I rub the inner fender away

IshiKage 06-04-2014 08:39 AM

What width, 8.75? Do you think 9.5 would be a bit much? What kit is that on your rear bumper? What are guys using for the sides and front to match?

Nice attention to detail with all the little additions

Depends what offset and drop height, juan or pu. I'm on the limit of OEM rear specs and don't have camber arms. With 9.5, you're going to need enough offset to clear the struts, pushing it out even more.

I think he XXRs in 9"+ are 25 offset. Mad concave look but not without ridiculous poke or stretch. I wouldn't do it...

*edit* Rear lip is Home Depot Lip or EZ lip. I have the same up front, nothing on the sides.

im looking at the XXR 531s in 18 x 9.5 +35 on a Pu. Any thoughts?

speedaholic 06-04-2014 06:21 PM

@IshiKage; I think you're going to want to check inside clearance as it might be tight without spacers:

Actually you might be okay. Might need a small spacer in the front but I know a guy with a pu on 18x9.5 et38 with no spacers

I was considering running staggered. (225)8.5" +35 Front and (225)9.5" +35 rear or would you stick with (225)9.5" front and rear? I was thinking by going with 8.5" up front I wouldnt have to run as much neg camber as I would with 9.5 thus having a better contact patch which id prefer.

speedaholic 06-04-2014 09:46 PM

Yeah, it doesn't really work that way. Staggered for a FWD is form > function / ricy. Also, aggressive camber can yield better grip while cornering in a track setup, it's pointless and a waste of rubber for a daily driver.

You might want to search and read more before biting the bullet on a new setup:

I know the benefits of aggressive camber on the track. I know Im throwing out a lot of function to gain form but Im not tracking this car. Its a DD. I know that Im going to be chomping through rubber since Im going with an aggressive set up but my question is, could I get a better contact patch up front from an 8.5" wheel and less neg camber than I would having a 9.5" or it would be negligible since both wheels will have +35 offset and that 1 inch difference wouldnt make much of a difference either way?

The only stagger you should do on a fwd is wider in the front. With camber it depends on your toe and how extreme your camber is. I run -2.2 camber with 0 toe all around I don't see any camber wear.

Imo, if you only run an intake and possibly a tune (as per your sig), a quality sticky set of 235s on those 8.5s are more than sufficient. As is, I personally would go for 8.5s all around or, 9.5s if I was feeling ambitious or planning on modding for more power.

Another problem with the staggered setup is you can't rotate them for longer tread life. If that option is only for looks, than there's no point in discussing it's function, or lack of...

Domino81 06-19-2014 08:20 AM

I tossed on some 5/16" spacers I had laying around. So now I have 18x8.5 +40mm offset, effectively.

Before:

After:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...psd7e4e224.jpg

Ultimately what I was looking for was something more aggressive and truth be told I was thinking of selling these wheels. I think it gives the perfect compliment to them and the car and I once again feel like I did when I first installed the ST100's on the car. They're still heavy, but now they give the car a better attitude and I'm really diggin' it.

Ok so I just ordered my xxr 527s In 18x8.75 +35 for my gen1. I'm kinda nervous about fitment and such. I'm currently lowered on eibach sportlines ~2in . I plan on rolling the fenders but just how bad is it gonna be fitting it and will I have any major issues. Thanks for the help I really appreciate it

Astrall 07-06-2014 12:33 PM

Also I will be running oem tire size

Well, you already know you need a roll. Possibly a pull, too, since you're lowered about two inches. In the end it's been done many times since so many people feel the need to get those same wheels. You shouldn't have any surprises and should be able to make them fit like everyone else has.

And for the love of god, please get some properly fitting tires. Stock sized tires are going to make it look (and more importantly perform) like crap.

7th Initial 07-16-2014 08:19 AM

Im pretty sure there is a thread out there that discuss this. They say 8.75 but I believe they are measuring from the the inner lips rather then the outer lips of the rim. thus actually making it a 9"+ wheel.

@Astrall; that looks about right fitment wise.

It's gonna be some work and stretch to not rub.

Astrall 07-16-2014 06:28 PM

After some research and a call to XXR, it turns out that they measure by the inside and it ends up being a much bigger rim then planned. I will make it work some how... Wish me luck
