Any photos of car with this setup? What offset of wheels? Tire spec?

Ok, so I've literally spent 2 days reading through this thread and still need a little advice. I'm lowered 1.5" all the way around on CS springs. Have CS shocks and struts also. I'm looking at getting some 18x8.5 +20 TSW's. I know that rolling of rear fenders is needed but should I have much else to worry about? I'll pull them if I absolutely have to but haven't done it before. Any insight on this setup is much appreciated. Plan to stick with 225/40/18.

You will 100% need to pull.

Thanks! I used the wheel offset calculator to compare another dudes setup from one of these posts. He had same suspension but was running 235/40/18 on a 18x9.5 +30 offset. Supposedly only had a roll in the rear and doesn't rub. Only a 2mm difference in fitment according to the calculator. I was a little bit weary of no pulling with that setup.

My avatar is my current set up. I don't have any other pictures really. You could check out my instagram, I might have some on there. aldenregimbal.

offset is +35, and tires are 235/40/18 re760's.

I am slightly pulled. But I've literally driven with a car load of people, and haven't once rubbed. I have rubbed when wheel is at full lock left or right depending on the angle of the road im on, but its pretty rare. Might have happened like 5 times?

browerl 03-05-2017 11:24 PM

Alden, your setup is the one I was talking about. Lol. Guess I only had to go back one page to see it. I've read so much stuff on here that I couldn't remember where I saw it.

I know... tons of stuff to read through! haha I'm thinking I'm gunna go with 245 tires next. Lets hope I don't run into issues when I decide to do that!

Anyone here running 1552 Tarmac wheels? Or any pics of a mazdapeed with them somewhere? I am really looking at the 17x9 ET45 ones in Matte black but anything will do.

Edit: lol

Yeah white or silver are very common. Havent seen them in black yet though.
Its ok if they are heavy. These would be my street wheels on either the 3 or the 6 depending on which I like the look better on.

KiwiFlavor 04-11-2017 02:49 PM

White speed + gold wheels = bomb!

Djohns 04-11-2017 07:12 PM

lol I was just about to post pics of that white one with green wheels. Pops up on my local CL.

Tomas 04-12-2017 08:36 AM

I like the gold rim on white car look. But then it also gathers attention and I'd rather go for the stealth look cuz I am shy. Also gold rims on the grey 6 would look atrocious and I'd like to swap wheels now and again.

I've read 60+ pages of this thread the the regular fitment guide thread but I'd still like to ask my questions here. My apologies in advance if it's repetitious.

I currently have a 2005 Mustang GT and two sets of wheels. Bolt pattern is 5x114.3 with a 70.3 mm hub bore. I am planning to sell the Mustang with one set of wheels (keep the other set) and purchase a Genpu MS3. MS3 will stay at stock height for snow clearance purposes. I know my current tires won't work on an MS3 but the wheels should fit with hubcentric spacers. Which set of Mustang wheels should I keep?

18 x 9.5" +45 (OEM take-offs from a 2007 GT500, currently with 265/40 Pilot Super Sports)

Would love to use them with 245/35/18 or 245/40/18 summer tires on a Genpu MS3 but based on my research, these are really at the fitment limit. With stock suspension, no drop, would I still have to roll the rear fenders? Would I have to pull and do camber too? Would the +45 offset require spacers at either end? Would the inside of the rim touch the stock struts?

17 x 8" +45 (OEM 2005 Bullitt style, currently with 215/60 Altimax Arctic)

If the GT500 wheels are a no go, I'll keep these and use them for winters with some 225/45 tires.

Neither. Ford wheels don't belong on a Mazda.

Certainly someone has put a 9.5" wheel on a MS3......+45 offset is not aggressive however. Keep the 9.5's if you must downgrade the MS3 with Ford wheels.

Thanks for the reply. Isn't the Mazda3 is based on the Ford global C1 platform shared with the same era European Ford Focus and Volvo S40? Using Mustang wheels on an MS3 isn't common but I hardly think that Ford wheels are a downgrade...

I'm just giving you a hard time. Post up pics of the wheels. Just keep the ones you want and if they fit then great. For reference I know with a lot of rolling a 19x10 +40 squeezed onto an MS6. Not same clearances as MS3 but close.

Let me guess, you're going to put flares on an MS3 to run that ridiculous setup. Those wheels are going to poke 4" I bet. Post pics when you're done so we can make fun of your car. Thanks!

Djohns 05-05-2017 08:56 AM

But why? You have any idea how much weight that adds? Not to mention it is going to look stupid especially if you run flares because the flare option for these cars all look like shit. And I know you're not making that much power to justify such a wide tire because you only have an s3.

They stuck out probably 1-1/2" before flares. I'll have more pics when the cars all back together shortly.

Actually these weigh 7lb less per corner than my 18X8 Motegi wheels with 245/40 RE71R's on them.

I've been running flares for well over a year now and I didn't choose such a wide tire for straight line grip.

Alright fair enough. I retract my comment. Except for the fender flare one, have seen a set look good on a speed yet.

It's all good, flares aren't exactly pretty but they work. I went the extra mile and molded them into the body, it looks better but it's a huge pain in the ass to make them strong enough to resist cracking.

If I did it again I'd do it the lazy way and buy bolt on ABS flares.

The tires are a bit extreme, but I would always blow off my 225 slicks on corner exit in anything less than 4th gear.

This is on an MS6. Cutting fender is involved, and I think it would take pretty extensive work for these to fit on an MS3.
