He was parked. That pic was at Simply Clean 3 in Orlando. There were so many cars that showed up that people were parked literally anywhere there was room, including the side of the street for miles behind the place.

Did you have to roll and pull the fenders? I love the look and would love to get a set for my ride. I'm guessing they won't fit without coilovers correct?

yeah i rolled the fenders and they were pulled very little, i have no rubbing issues. Yeah i would go with coilovers.

yeah they are all custom sizes and offsets. i believe they are less than $800 per wheel, but i'm not sure. it says on the site.

Tomas 12-26-2011 08:30 PM

These are my newly acquired track wheels.
Enkei NT03+ 17x9.5 ET44
Hancook RS3s in 255 width
12mm spacers in the front but 5mm will not hit the struts.

Got these from Tire Rack, $250 for each rim and $125 for each tire. Not a bad deal overall I think. Had to get Enkei involved since these wheels with this offset were not in TRs system so they did not have a part number. Fucking people at tire rack did not want to do any of the leg work so I had to forward all my email correspondence with Enkei for them to set it up. But at the end they delivered everything in excellent shape.Took about 2 months to get these from Japan.
These are just about the best set of wheels I've ever had so far.
Weight per wheel 47 lbs. Rim weight about 20 lbs I think.
My RX8 wheels with 235 NT05s weight 44 lbs at the end of their life.

Sweet set-up bro, so 32mm offset and 37mm will not hit the strut?

Tomas 12-26-2011 09:17 PM

^^^ correct. All the way up to 39 won't. We are talking regular struts though. Not coilovers.
I am running trimmed FSD's with cobb springs. About 1.5" drop.

goob_os101 12-28-2011 11:47 AM

not sure how aggressive these will be...5zigen fno1rcs 18x8.5 w/ 235/45/18s or 245/40/18s on GenWon w/ stock suspension(soon SenSen shocks). I am assuming that I may need a 5mm spacer to clear the front...

Not really...

It just means that his rear sway bar is inhibiting extension of the suspension on the side that is in the air.

;)

That picture would look quite a bit different with the RSB disconnected/out of the way...

RhoadBlock 12-28-2011 01:05 PM

Yeah I wouldn't imagine you'd need much of a spacer to clear the struts. Throw a 5mm on there for good measure. Roll your fenders good. And you're all set.

goob_os101 12-28-2011 01:39 PM

You don't see these wheels on many Mazda3s let alone a Speed3. I think they look alot like my FDs...but better! They may get painted satin black...

IIRC, @sumthaiguy used to have Work Eurolines or something that looked similar to the wheels on that first FD. Wasn't my taste - I think the flat/fatter spoked wheels look better on VDubs. But it didn't look bad.

Hey guys I got a MS6 and want XXR 522 19x10 et42 with 255/35 and was wondering if any MS6'ers had anything remotely close to that on their setup. Of course rolling is required but to what extent after that is the question. Thanks

Thanks from what i have done on paper with the MS3 wheels that I have on now 18x7 et52.5, the new wheels will extend ~47.5mm foward and provide 28.5mm less strut clearance...I'm away at college and dont have access to my car to be able to get a wheel to do a test fit...I've been killing willtheyfit.com like crazy

oh no, someone doing research ahead of time. that setup will definitely require some camber and a flat roll and pull...and fender flares

RhoadBlock 01-19-2012 06:17 PM

Okay I can't really get into crazy details but I'm running 19x9.5 +25 with 225/35 tires. It's going to be a shit ton of work for you to get a 19x10 +42 w/ 255s. You're likely going to need spacers to clear the struts, which is going to put you further outside the fender. To combat that you're going to need to camber a lot. And unless you want to look like a monster truck you need to be lowered. But if you want to be any kind of lowered you're never going to clear the fenders with 255s. Not without a fairly aggressive pull anyways. To fit a wheel as wide as that you're going to need a lot of stretch and camber or a hell of a fender pull.

If you want to run 255s you're better off taking a little meatier looking tire on a 9 than a tiny stretch over a 10. ESPECIALLY if you're dead set on 19s. 19s look incredible IMO but now you're making it much more difficult to run an aggressive wheel/tire setup. Run a 9" wide wheel about +38-42 or so offset with 255s. May need a small spacer to clear struts. But you won't have to camber as much.

I'll seek thru some of my pics during my fitment to give you some ideas of what my setup looked like before and after stretch, lows and camber. I'll give you measurements that you can compare your potential setup to.

I'm not trying to dissuade to from getting that setup - it would be badass to see it. I'm just forewarning you of the effort it will take to fit those wheels while maintaining social acceptance in the automotive world. Or if you're like me then I say the following....."no way you can make it happen."

Now get to work.

edit: holy shit BobtailedSnail, someone HAS been doing their research. I'll detail it up and get you those pics when I'm back in town this weekend. I'm in a hotel with shitty WIFI and am sick of the slow service. But since you've been doing homework already, I'll def help you with your fitment endeavors.

BobtailedSnail 01-19-2012 07:31 PM

@RhoadBlock Thanks for the heads up I could go 245's just don't want to. But in my free time I spend about 2 hours a day trying to theorize to make these work in my head and on willtheyfit.com and looking at how the tire will stretch on tyrestretch.com. they have a gallery of stretched looks...when it comes to these sites...i make them my bitch. HAHA when I was younger I had the pic of your and Steve S. (no gov't names here because SOPA lol) cars as my Facebook pic...that's how I met Steve lol Hell of a job on your Privat's

EDIT: I just ran our setups on willtheyfit.com and your wheels poke out 14mm more that the 19x10 et42, cross referenced with a guy that has 19x9.5 et45 which are inset 3mm short of the 19x10 et42's so I could use 3mm or 5mm spacers maybe...but the problem is its all on paper lol

Death-From-A-Mile 01-21-2012 09:02 PM

I get wheel fitment and flush...etc. I like it on some cars, I like it on Speeds to a point. What I do not get after looking at this thread on and off for awhile now is the busted ass cars. Like the one in the video above me that Gusto posted. I would be ashamed to make a video of my car with painters tape and torn up fenders. What is nice about that? You might as well put "Under Construction" stickers on it like the mini-truck guys do.

That being said I am going for the most flush fit I can....with very mild camber and a good roll.

That's cool. Steve is cool ppls. He used to live about 10 mins from me. He's just across the bay from me now tho. Lol, yeah Kid5 on 247 hit me up for a few weeks non stop about fitment questions before he finally went with that setup. You're doing the same thing as I did bro. Tryestretch.com & willtheyfit.com were bookmarked and I hit them for hours on end. Broke out the tape measure with my two previous setups for comparison and got to work. Only reason I went with the wheels I did was price. They were more aggressive than I was planning to go but 4 wheels for $612.xx shipped brand new I couldn't pass up.

Tomorrow I'll sift thru my pics and shoot you a PM of some of the setup while I was working on it.

its all good man.. ya ive been asked before but no biggy... i also am running H&R's and really all ive done is roll fenders.. im thinking of doing either coils or camber arms just to degree it alittle bit.. your prob going to rub abit depending on the size tire.. but then again you alittle thinner then i am..

i rubbed just abit and im running 245's on my 9.5's so if anything you may just need a roll on the fenders.. my fronts have not had any issues hitting which i was surprised by..

since i have rolled i get very slight rub still on outer wall if i hit a big enough dip, but then again since i install JBR's rear sway bar and put to stiffest setting i think i eliminated most that.

Soooo again, a roll will prob be the only thing in your future with this set up. lol :poke:

You just entered the TWM thing on FB huh? I could have sworn that was my friend's car. Both named Tim. Small world, nice car.

I think if the Genpu had a square bumper above the wheel and came down in a straight line instead of being oval; then Genpu's body style wouldn't be all so bad.

AWD PWR 02-02-2012 11:43 PM

So has anyone tried the xxr 527 +35 wheels on a MS6? really like these wheels and I haven't seen anyone with them. I would like to try the 18x8.75 but wanted to see if anyone else had tried it yet.

SamInAustinTX 02-02-2012 11:50 PM

edit:
running 245 45 17s on 17x8

maybe not crazy "aggresive" but definitely as hellaflush as I can get while still retaining the hellafunctional stance.
I have about 1mm clearance between the tire and the coilovers, and I was barely rubbing on my already rolled rears, had to roll a bit more.

... on a side note, i guess im a fucking brownie now. too bad, I have no cash, ill remain a brownie for a bit.

Yeah, that rust sucks. Car's nice to look at, but I'd never drive it

RhoadBlock 02-06-2012 04:51 AM

That shit looks more like burnt paint from him rubbing so much than rust. Granted rust is sure to follow soon.

Jake5713 02-06-2012 05:04 AM

@Gusto
Maybe it's just me but I don't understand that shit.
Cambered to hell
Doesn't even look good to me at all
I'm all for a drop but that's just fucking retarded looking
My two cents.

I actually think a lot of these cars look pretty good, but that last one is fucking retarded.

18x8 50et w/ 225/40 soon to be 235' or 245's. No issues at stock height. This was done for performance more than looks though(lighter weight wheels with a little more bead)
