For the 99% out there, Rota will take just as much abuse as any other cast wheel.

To people that know wheels, Rota is just another high volume manufacturer with the same rigorous production standards as every other OEM supplier. If they REALLY had the amount of defects people claimed, their venture with Toyota would have expired over a decade ago. The REAL reason people hate on Rota is 1) they are accessible to just about everyone 2) their paint & finish is paper-thin 3) their designs mimic many of the limited production brands. Reading through some of the fail threads can be a real eye-opener.

I probably will never buy Rotas, but I won't frown upon those that do.

I had a set of Rotas once. One cracked. Got fixed. Cracked again. Got fixed. Cracked again. Got thrown in dumpster.

That was just my experience. I probably wouldn't run them again, but I know plenty of people who do (Subaru folks) and they seem to be fine. Compared to the other sets of wheels I've owned, the Rotas seemed to be the worst quality, however, they were also the cheapest. To me, that just confirms the age old adage: you get what you pay for.

Now, when your entire setup is build with some of the parts on the market which are most prone to failure, then you present a threat to other motorists on the road.That is the initial reason you were initially flamed, Yes part of that is because you ride Rotas. Rotas are fine, just that people dislike the fact they are knock-offs. A lot of time attack teams use them and have no problems, they go through more abuse than any of us with their wheels/cars. Why hate? I mean, Rotas aren't exactly cheap now, they are like $850 a set? They used to be $500-600! The reason why there are so many articles about Rota cracking is because they are most hated company and they are successful knocking off those $2-3K set wheels. People want to bring them down! To be honest, how many people would want to buy a set of wheels and not have much else done to their car? You can buy Rotas and have plenty of other mods done compare to buying a set of Volks...

If you guys wanna knock on somebody, knock on the people who paint/powdercoat their fucking stock wheels. NOW, that's a waste of money for no fucking upgrade what-so-ever!

I still think rubberbands are gay and the amount of camber added to compensate for a set of wheels that you can't fit is just DUMB. I just don't like the fact people uses a car to look cool...

I agree don't hate.... I had Rotas on my civic, they looked good wernt too heavy didn't have any problems tell I spun out and drilled a curb going 60 but the rims was the least of my problem, I have nothing against them
