Damn. A wise brownie. That's as rare as meeting a wealthy black man. Or a philanthropic Jew. Or a Canadian.

Just to triple check. Rota Grid 18x9.5 +35 with 235/40/18 will fit but with rears rolled?

I see those with +38 and 3mm spacers so going 35 I eliminane the spacer...?

Had a shop test fit +38 which had 245s but wouldn't go on the front, I have yellow speed coils on and low. I had my daughter with me so couldn't check and try to see where it was having issues. The guy fitting them didn't seem like he could do that job so I left the place. But want to buy from them as they are in my state. They did chuck on +20 or +27 and they stuck out a good 4"+ to show me how wide 9.5 is

Currently on RX8 235/40/18 and had to roll my rears. I've got at most a finger gap in rears.

Flares & wheels might be for sale..
I'm still very much on the fence about doing it..

I haven't driven the car since JULY... so .. I might just run a diff set of wheels for the end of the season.. & toss out the whole flared/staggered speed6 idea...

omg dooood, really!?!!

this has been discussed many times. search. read.. inform yourself.

horrible idea for who.. you.. or me.
I own 5sets of wheels..

19"- staggered RH
18"- Orange Kosei
18"- OEM's
19"- Rays(volk)
19"- staggered Asanti's (if I wanted to go VIP)

I can do what-ever I want w/ the wheels I have..
Porsche & Lamborghini, as well other manufacturers run Staggered AWD set up.
No issues.

think before you talk.... this is still the Aggressive Offset thread.. right?

horrible idea for you dumbshit.

you ever think that lamborghini maybe designed their awd system around a staggered wheel setup? the ms6 is not.

I would love a staggered setup personally...285s up front, 255s out back. would be a track monster.

Well, since i seem to be the enforcement of stupidity and the correction of misinformation, you my friend are a fucking moron. I have already explained this to several other people, and if you followed this thread as tight as you hugged peoples nuts then you would have seen this information just a few pages back.

Now, since you are such a smart ass, what makes running a staggered setup such a bad idea on an AWD vehicle? Thats right you dont know, you just know what you have heard others says and you now take that as the truth.

Its not the width of the wheel that causes issues, its the rolling diameter that matters. If the front is "shorter" than the rear then you will have an issue, unless of course you compensate that height difference by running a "taller" tire on the front.

Use your brain and some simple logic and you wont have any issues.

Oh and for the record, Lambo did not, and would never design an AWD system based on their choice of wheels and tires you fucking moron.

+38 is a garbage offset
It's all about making the wheels fit, put them on your car then shape your fenders around them.

idk man, the only staggered setup id run on an ms6 would be a reverse staggered setup with wider tires in front.

Stop talking right now because that offset at that width is 2mm inner from a 9 +30. You don't know wheel fitment if you can't even figure that shit out. You run on Nankangs, you don't deserve a car but a fucking Prius.

Sorry I've got an 06 MPS3 (07 speed3). I'll go with +35's and I should be right, have used offset calculators but just wanted to check again before I start shopping for them.

If you can run shorter springs, you can run a lot higher offset with 235's or 245's quite easily. Then you wouldn't have that dumb ass camber or fucked up fender look.

Seems backward on a fwd-biased awd car. Need more tire up front where 50% or more of your power goes.

Ignore my stupidity here but is there any functional benefit to running a staggered setup on an awd car? I know people get a lot of hate for it...which I think is stupid, but I know yall are performance oriented and is there any theoretical advantage?

No. Staggered wheels was started by racers in RWD cars, where you need a wide contact patch for traction when accelerating, but want narrower (lighter) wheels up front for better handling feel.

There are plenty of Mid-engine, AWD cars where "conventionally staggered" setups make sense (due to the inherent weight balance/moment of inertia of the mid-engined layout). These are usually rear-biased AWD systems, and many of them actually don't even send ANY power to the front unless it's needed there...

Then you have the system in Ferrari's FF with its weird-ass front transaxle that runs off of a separate output shaft at the front of the engine and has different gear ratios altogether from the rear of the car...that setup is just fucking weird.

Why not drill it? If you do it properly there is nothing to worry about.

Use some PL Premium . . .

To be honest if you tell me where you got those flares I would drill my car. So long as I can turn lock to lock with 275's, 295's or 315's I'll run them.

I would only run the flares up front, there rear of this car doesn't do anything so need more than the 255 that I run now.

I'm worried that anything larger than a 275 won't be able to turn lock to lock. than again, I have some 30mm spacers that I need to try out. maxing out the camber with the corksport adjusters and maybe, just maybe 295's would fit.
