80+ views and no other posts :fuckyou:

Trying to decide if I want to go with new 17in wheels or keep the FDs and grab a set of coilovers.

Also ,anyone squeeze 245/50s?

_riskibus_MS3 09-29-2011 06:29 AM

bump @goob_os101 for better pics with them painted black. Thinking about going that route

goob_os101 09-29-2011 06:53 AM

You just changed my mind. I was going to go with 225/50 Hankook Ventus V12s, but For $50 more I can get 245/50 Federal SS595s. I worry becasue the Feds run big.

Post up how those meaty tire roll!

goob_os101 10-21-2011 08:11 AM

FOund this chart: ?Federal Tire - 595 - Dimension Data ?

The 245s = 255

I can get their 215s = 224...

TRex 10-27-2011 09:37 PM

really would like a set of these...normally not a meaty side wall fan but i can deal with it just for the lightness of the wheels

goob_os101 10-28-2011 07:28 AM

Do it TRex!!!!!

I have a set for winter and a set for summer...hell I may pick up another set for auto-x.

These wheels are llight, durable, inexpensive, tires cost far less, rides smoother...the list goes on.

I am going to buy shocks and lower springs after winter.

TRex 10-31-2011 06:29 AM

^yea i would pick up a set for auto-x

i rock all seasons year round so i would like to get a dedicated wheel tire set up for autox

Bringing this back up to see more pics of other cars with FDs. I am considering it for my lowly 04 mz3. I am liking the look of these. Any modifications needed to the 3 like the mods the 6s need?

goob_os101 09-17-2012 12:07 PM

No mods...

I have 2 sets for sale...on set has winter tires!

Domino81 09-17-2012 12:09 PM

Great for track wheels.

Mr Wilson 09-18-2012 04:27 PM

Just picked up a set of polished, reinforced fd's. Should be able to have some pics this weekend.

escort1991 09-28-2012 08:18 PM

Mr Wilson, thanks for the pic. These are growing on me.

Was thinking of selling my black MS6 wheels and put some FD wheels on my MZ3. Plus, I like the meaty tire look.

:: Gusto :: 09-29-2012 09:49 AM

hmmm will 16s fit on a speed6..?

if so . there are so many other wheels I could start buying.

=0)

Celestspeed3 09-29-2012 02:40 PM

Here is a picture of my old 6 before I got the Pu.

The wheels are 16x8 +50 from a 2002 JDM RX-7 Efini Bathurst R, from what I know there are only a few sets in north america. Polish_Eagle has them now. Maybe he can post some pics of them on his Pu.

Yes, I'm pretty sure they fit on the Speed6.

Mr Wilson 09-30-2012 03:38 PM

^^^ Think you have to grind down a bit of the front caliper for fd's to fit on an MS6.

v8killer 10-24-2012 02:32 PM

I'm looking for a set as well!

Jonathan92c 11-09-2012 06:33 PM

Love this thread. Wheels look nice and meaty. Want a set myself but currently found a really good deal on 16" mustang rims. Anybody know anything about those?

exentix 11-24-2012 05:16 PM

I had these on my mz3 when I traded in for the speed. I kinda miss them lol. great wheels

goob_os101 11-26-2012 10:37 AM

Turned out sexy!!

Can't wait to see pics of them eating some snow up!

08cosmic3 01-28-2013 04:27 PM

I'm an FD wheel addict, had them on my 97 Probe GT before the MS3. I have two sets now and picking up a 3rd set Saturday. I have 225/55/16 Michelin Arctic Alpine snows on one set with Enfini caps, Bridgestone RE-11's in 225/50/16 on my Deals Gap set and I'm picking up a set Saturday that is said to be pristine with Bridgestone potenza's 70-80% tread left. He said the tires are high performance so I'm hoping they are RE-11's. If they are then this is going to be a huge score and if they are lesser Potenza's they will still serve as great daily's.

minger 01-29-2013 03:04 PM

@eventix what color is that and is that spraypaint or PC'd? Only asking because it is a ridiculous color, but mostly...the wheel weight is painted!

Mr Wilson 03-10-2013 12:25 PM

Out of curiosity, anyone know the center cap size for FD's?

My set didn't come with them and I'm not spending $200 from Mazda for four caps. My wheels are 2 hours away from me right now otherwise I'd just measure mine.

Not a fan of them w/o caps and just want something in that space.

Cheers.

08cosmic3 03-10-2013 03:21 PM

There is no replacement for the FD caps other than FD caps. Look on E-bay and check the rotary forums.

What size spacer are you running to get those off the struts and shocks?

I have a set of used caps I'll sell for $50. They are in good shape but the paint is coming off one of them. I would just sand them all down and repaint them before installing.

EDIT: The paint is coming off one noticeably and slightly on another but like I said just sand and paint before installing.
