So I was just browsing through threads and it just clicked for me - you're Chris, right? If I remember the name correctly. You were at Sonic last Saturday. I rolled in with Brett, Bryan, and Dan; the silver, blue, and red EVO Xs. And my buddy Olex, he's got the blue STi. I was there with the black speed6. Olex was telling me you used to have a speed6.

I was down for the weekend and had to check out the EVOs. I'd bring up the rear of the group on the road like "Yeah, I know these guys right here. Yeah! Woo!"

Nice wheels, by the way. Always loved the black on black.

So what was the final verdict on getting these wheels to fit without rubbing all the time? I'm looking into getting wheels sometime in the future and am trying to figure out all of my options.

So you are on stock suspension? I've heard that a lot of people have been having problems with rubbing because the shocks and springs arent stiff enough. I'll be dropped on the prokit pretty soon. I'm just trying to get the most aggressive setup that I can without rubbing constantly and damaging my tires. Thanks for the info.

Rubbing should never be blamed on the stiffness of the suspension, IMO...

If you've done your homework regarding fitment and prepared your car properly, the suspension should be able to move throughout it's entire natural arc without rubbing. In my opinion, if you're relying on the stiffness of your suspension to prevent interference between your wheels/tires and your car's body, you're doing it wrong.
