Pulled the trigger on some Volk SE37K

I was getting sick of no traction out of tight corners at the AutoX, and said if I was going to go wider, might as well go lighter.

17x8.5+40 in the front with 245/45/17 Direzzas.
17x7.5+40 in the rear with 235/45/17 Direzzas.

I going to keep her as she sits for the rest of the year to focus on improving my driving skill instead of covering up my mistakes with money. I also found a guy selling a set of lightly used R-Compounds for the price of 1 new tire, so I might de-mod and go back to D Stock.

Looks good. Good luck with the driving.

not going 17x9 255/35 -2

grantmm 07-01-2010 12:14 PM

^I wish I could have done that. I had a hard enough time finding a set of these wheels for sale in a MS3 friendly setup as is.

SB.MS3 07-01-2010 12:33 PM

Wheels look great!
And I like your VOLK lug nuts :)

xcoldricex 07-01-2010 05:22 PM

hate the look of a front stagger. at least you're putting it to good use though.

and you can put 255's on those 8.5's!

Thanks for hooking me up and putting up with my "what color should I get?" dilemma. If only you had the gunmetal lugs in this thread pitch :( I'm glad the bronze SE37K seller ended up being a flake. I've only seen 1 or two other cars online that have the Ti Silver version of these. I'll be stopping by the shop sooner or later to pick up some new brake pads too.

Ya sorry no gun metal I think the black turned out great though :). See you around.

nice wheels

Switters 07-11-2010 08:01 PM

Looks great man. Ive been looking into getting wider wheels as well and had a few questions. Are you stock suspension wise? Did you roll your fenders? Are you rubbing? Thanks in advance.

grantmm 07-13-2010 09:00 AM

Stock suspension, and I did have to roll the rears, but the fronts are perfect.
Thanks for the complements!

Function over looks is a very good idea when your racing so great choice!

One last picture of the car before she's no longer at rally car height.
