Slicks for MS3 Is anyone on here running slicks at the track? I would like to get some. Problem is, finding slicks for an 17-18 inch wheel is next to impossible. So my questions are: A. Can the MS3 (07 - 09) fit a 16 inch wheel with stock brakes? B. What size slick would you recommend? I was thinking about a 24-26 x 7-9 x 16-18. Thanks ahead of time :) |
http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...me-pros-47125/ Socks used to run radial slicks, now his are for sale because his ms3 has been traded. (They can be repainted, but c'mon you know the pink is awesome) Subparpunk03 ran the same ones - 1.8 6'' |
Thanks :) unfortunately I cannot post on that thread quite yet. Do you know if he had a drop when he was running them? |
Yeah, he did. About an inch or so. Here's a pic: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...2/b1fbb365.jpg |

brian doesnt know what hes talking about. Kurt has been using slicks on his stock motor stock clutch for a few trip to the dragstrip. I was using drag radials for a long time, and finally stepped up to slicks, but ended up selling my car. They literally only have one pass on them. My aim sn is SMFlynn2k4 |

ok, since you actually have the slicks, how much of a drop did you have? and any rubbing issues what so ever with the 26x9.5 slicks? And my AIM is AequitasSaints06. IM whenever. |
i think at full turn if you hit a bump it might rub the fender well, but for track use, it didnt rub on shifts, or when you brake at the end of the track. I had cobb springs, i think they are about an inch drop. |
very nice. I am running a set of B+G springs, dunno the extent of the drop, but i believe it is also about an inch. my 235/40's rub with extreme turning, so I am fairly confident in your result working on mine. |
so basically from reading this thread i gather that Brian doesnt know what he s talking about, in a nutshell. damn "electrition" |
what!! i didnt know socks traded his ms3...damn |
