TPMS Sensor Relearn ? My TPMS light was on and according the manual it said it was a communication error. I took it to my friends shop and they determined it as a bad sensor on the right front (FYI that diagnostic procedure is not as easy as just plugging in and pulling a code). I am running the stock rims and tires by the way. I purchased a new sensor form Tire Rack and it was the correct part and the numbers perfectly matched on the new unit to the one I replaced. Any way 100+ miles later the light is still on. Is there something I missed to register the new sensor? This is what I did ( I cant remember where I found this): I let it sit for over 15 minutes and drive it over 16mph for over 10 minutes to register the new code. As stated above I have driven over 100 miles since replacing the sensor The only other thing I can think of is the wrong sensor was replaced? Any help is greatly appreciated. |
I purchased a set of used TPMS sensors off Ebay for my winter set up. I never 'registered' them to the car and have never received a light. Just threw that set back on about 2 weeks ago having them sit in my basement for the summer; no light/no problems (knock on wood). The sensors I bought were off a non-speed Mazda 3 FWIW. I'd say either the wrong sensor was replaced or another one crapped out. Good luck. |
