Will these fit
 

I am currently running a set of 225/40/18's on my speed3. It has stock rims and HR springs. To me these look a little bulky in the wheel well with the drop I have. I had previously tried a set of 235/40/18 on the car and they rubbed under hard turning. So I was wondering if I got a set of 235/35/18 if they would fit? The recommended wheel width is 8" so would this be an issue. And the extra .5" off the sidewall wouldn't bee too much reduction to leave a gap would it?

I wouldn't put a 235/*anything* on a 7" wide wheel...
