Winter shoes on 2010 17in snowflakes

Picked up my winter tires last week and just got around to putting them on tonight. They are the Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 size 205/50/17 on the 2010 Mazda 3s 17 in snowflake rims that I painted black a while back. Shortly thereafter I went on a short ride through the town. On the bumpy downtown roads, the car seems much smoother than my summers. It could be a placebo effect, but it really seems like it absorbs the bumps better. Must be the effect of a thicker sidewall.

As many have said, they don't grip nearly as good and the turn-in is slower. But who gives a fuck when they can shred it up in the snow. :D Anyhow, on to the pics!

Looks good. It should feel softer on bumpy roads because, like you said, the sidewall is bigger. Plus, with snow tires, the rubber compound itself is softer than summer tires. I have my winter set-up just sitting in my garage waiting to go on. They aren't touching the car though until snow is in the forecast at least.

Yessir, makes sense when you put it that way. I was gonna wait longer, but it's supposed to snow in the metro area this weekend. I figured I'd rather be safe than sorry beacuse I had the winter set just sitting in my garage. Mountains are getting dumped on tho!! Ski areas will be open very soon :headbang:

Thanks. But what wheel size and sidewall depth do you have? 215 is the tire width, and I've been running 225/40/18 (yes which is smaller than stock) on my summers without any issues with rubbing. Assuming you have the stock setup for your winter tires, you should have no problem with 215/45/18.

nice look for the winter

my MS3 feels like a moon buggy with General Altimax Artics 215/55/16's mounted on FD wheels. When I hit larger bumps it almost feels like I rebound back up.
