(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score My 07 gen 1 speed3 is burning oil, however it only burns at about 10psi, if I stay under that I get no burn. The vehicle is running a purpledrank tune with a v3 access port, its tuned for a bigger turbo but has the stock turbo on it (how I bought the car). It has fordge manely rods, wisco pistons, stock turbo, grimspeed boost controler, catless downpipe. I was told that the wisco pistons where recalled about 3 yrs ago, but ive yet to confirm that. Ive searched the companys website and google to find more info and cant find any recalls from this company. at this point I would think if the rings where bad id be burning oil all the time, is it possible the turbo is burning oil? I know I should get a new tune, but with the burning oil issue im a little scared. any help would be appriciated and if you have questions or need more info im more then happy to provide that. thank you |

| Not Ranked : 0 score You are running the wrong tune for your turbo. Lord only knows what your actual boost or boost targets are. If you are pushing the K04 too hard with that tune, this may explain (possibly) the oil loss under boost (turbo seals and/or bearings/journals). Can you post a log? Also, you need to get a compression test, and report the results, cylinder by cylinder. An improper tune with the wrong AFR, timing, and boost under load can harm the engine, even if “built.” You are more likely to have oil bypass the rings when under boost.
