Why would you want to do this? You will lose the yaw stability function of DSC.

The SA race team has done this in the interim and no-probs?

If I only disconnect the steering angle sensor it wont effect the other dsc functions will it?

the SA team is running which flash exactly? they still havent fixed the stupid torque limiter with the steering angle? and the Bose team is racing with the dsc off anyway Id suppose. They wouldnt want that on their car, id believe.

but anyway....thats been identified and its been over a month, why hasnt it been fixed?

The SA team are running/logging and dynoing the Piasini Flash. They are nearly finished the update which as you know has the throttle control and better response etc. I spoke to Christian Piasini and he said to be patient the update will be out soon and the results will be worth it. Dyno tests thus far by the SA guys point at above the original 25 wheel kw gain , more than 80nm w/tq gain as well as the throttle and other advancements.

Now where is my SWAS sensor guys!!!

Hey, could you let me know how this goes and how it effects DSC?

I'm swapping the DSC system and if that disables the torque limiter in turns I'll just leave that disconnected.

Can you say you notice any effect from this mod? Does it disable the limiting of torque in turns?

So simply disconnecting the sensor removes the steering/power limiter. If so that is great... I hate all this computer nanny BS...

I have to call bullshit on this unless there is more to it besides unpluging the connector. I just did it, and when I started the car that little yellow slippery when wet symbol in the speedo was lit. I didn't drive the car like this, but I would expect it to be cutting boost all the time like the the tires were spinning constantly

I just took it for a drive, and it worked, but dsc doesn't. it acted the same wether dsc was on or off, its fun getting wheel hop in first pulling out of the gas station.

One question though, does this not trip a CEL??

there is no way that the steering sensor is an anchor in autocross. I can easily at any time drive my car to the outside of a corner with throtle. Having more power will only increase the likelyhood of understeer.
you are kidding yourself if you think this is gonna be the answer to going faster. Has anyone tried to spin the tires with the wheel turned? Its pretty damn easy, I dont see the benefit here.

Edit: Nevermind, that won't work, it's a momentary switch. May have to add a toggle switch or something as I really only have interest in turning this off for autocross.
you can just push and hold the dsc button while you start the car and achieve the same result (squiggly lines come on and stay on) personally I have found it leads hitting ice mode more often when braking (pedal goes to the floor and there is basically no brakes)

yeah I backed out of my driveway, and started up the hill it spun the tires, and pulled hard to the right because I was still getting the wheels straight. beware you won't get the one screw back in on the column unless you have a universal or take apart the lower dash, but it comes out easy

Guys Guys Guys

This is the facts.
1/ The pushing down of dsc when starting the car trick does not do the same thing, but do whatever you want. I know that the SA racing car has the same sensor removed and this is where I had the pics/info sent from. I think those guys are a little smater than you and would have just played with the dsc switch as is common knowledge.

2/ I have had the sensor disc for months and after replugging for a dealer visit I quickly removed again as the car is soooooo much better without.

3/ This removes Steering angle torque reduction and TC, DSC is still switchable as per stock. I can confirm that DSC remains intact.

4/ Anybody who calls BS on this is a Moron. I know several Aus MPS cars including myself that have been running with this disconnected for ages and all is sweet. We needed this as a quick fix as we were the first 2 Piasini flashed cars, pryor to NYpest etc. The steering angle sensor caused probs for v1 flash , I prefer having total control over the car and have chosen to keep it removed even though I have the up to date v3 flash now.

it works, but DSC doesn't it made no difference switched on or off. normally with it on you try to do a burnout, and it will shut you down. with the sensor unplugged I did burnouts no problem with DSC on. with it unplugged do you have that little warning light in the speedo lit? I did

TC is what stops the burn out. Dsc off is Tc off with this car.

Dsc has no bearing on burn outs.

Anyhow the car is heaps better to drive with the swas disc yes?

And yes the light is permanent when sensor pulled

I can't test how it affects lateral acceleration safely on the streets so I'll have to say your probably right

Well I actually wired my sts power to a switch, so I can toggle it on and off at will. I honestly can't tell much of difference, at least with some aggressive street use, between it being on and off. That being said, I'm still running some 205s, so I can't really push the acceleration much in turns without getting mad spin. Also, once you toggle the sensor off, even if you turn it back on, the light stays lit. It's cleared as soon as you switch the car on with the switch on.

The zero interference is soooo much better for my car.

If my car was near stock the difference would be less but with the substantial difference in HP the torque limiting that exists (Dsc on or off) when the sensor in place is a pita.
