Any sub 10 second speeds out there?

A kid I know has a truck that runs 9.9 1/4 miles. Talks non-stop shit about the tiny 4 cyl speeds. At the end of the day he still drives a truck, but still. So.... any sub 10 second speeds out there?

I don't believe that 690hp in a diesel truck is good for sub 10's on a legit track. Those things are like 6400lbs so that's about the same power to weight as a 345hp speed

Well it takes $60k to get a Crewcab Chevy Duramax to run mid to low 10's. So this kid would prolly need $30k+ into his Cummins to run anywhere near that like its been said before.

Couple single cab 5.9 common rails in my are with well over 700hp, on slicks the fastest I've seen is 10.80's, mind you these are gutted trucks still north of 4000 lbs. torque is their saving grace cuz after 100 it's all aero and they fail in that department.

Dodge ram diesel owners often refer to their truck as a "cummins". This coming from a former cummins owner. I would bet this 2001 24 valve 5.9L cummins is a dodge ram 2500/3500 with a 24 valve cummins turbo diesel.

All the truck guys I know(i'm an equipment mechanic so I know a few), if you asked them what they drive they would say powerstroke/cummins etc not f250/350, Ram etc.

Ive been studying diesel turbos and I am not aware of a street trim diesel of any make that runs sub 10 seconds. They have to be stripped and have at least one turbo that is the size of a basketball.
