Default Andrew Bogut

So Im a HUGE Milwaukee Bucks fan.... as in Ive missed maybe 20-30 televised games in the last 10 years since directv gave me the oppurtunity to see them all.

Whattya all think of Bogut? He just signed a 72million dollar contract and is saying he hopes to have Australia in the medals at the Olympics? Hows everybody feel about this guy and who is the next best talent in the country?

Do any of you guys follow the Bucks, NBA, or Bogut? Just wondering.

he sucks. villaneuva would have been better at the same position. he wasnt worth a number one pick, no white guy is, plus, he sucks, lol. what did he average last year, 14 and 10? weak for 72 mil, i could do that if i was 7 foot. villanueva is gonna be a star when he finally gets a chance, 20 and 12, for sure.

Basketball has only a small following here in Australia. The big games are football and cricket. Luke Longley I think was our other big basketball export.

Bogut is a good player - fundamentally sound, 15 and 10 is OK for his third year in but not spectacular, be interesting to see how he goes with yet another new coach and the change in personnel...was a great contract he signed, no wonder Okafor is holding out for more $$ in Charlotte.

Not much NBA on down here, might get a couple of games a week on cable/satellite - I tend to download any that I'm after in particular. The net has been a huge bonus for true basketball fans here, means we can keep up with the international game. Our premier domestic league is dying, two big clubs folded due to lack of $$$ this offseason, this trend has been happening the past few years. It's a real shame, we've got some great talent coming through but nowhere for them to play at home. Many of the guys I used to play with have had to quit pro ball here and get real jobs, you can't afford to live as a full-time pro here unless you're in the top 3-5 at your club.

Next best talent from Australia is hard to say, I'd keep an eye on Nathan Jawai (C) who was drafted 41 this year and has signed with Toronto, he definitely has double double potential, big body (true NBA centre size), very mobile and quite raw. Needs to work on his stamina, but his basketball IQ is pretty good for someone who has only been playing for five years or so. Patrick Mills (PG) who will be a sophmore at St Mary's next season is worth keeping an eye on, A.J. Olgivy (C) another, but he'll probably end up in Europe rather than 12th man in the NBA although he'll probably get drafted early second round next year.
